A Canadian version of “Jet Lag” feat. Marie-Mai to be released

Trying to figure out the number of times Jet Lag has been released is making me crazy… but let’s try to sum it up: so far Simple Plan’s first single from their last record – “Jet Lag” – has been released in its English, French and Chinese versions, then an English version featuring Indonesian band Kotak, and then countless of times we’ve witnessed Simple Plan perform this song with various female (and even male) singers. Simple Plan have really made a pretty smart move to keep the attention of (not only) their fanbase by keeping the track on the radio thanks to the many different versions that exist. And they most certainly are not done yet!

As Sab has informed me, the CKOI radio in Canada played another version of Jet Lag today – which is to be known as the Canadian version of this song. The song is still in French, Marie-Mai is still the guest vocalist, but the lyrics are slightly different from the version we are used to.

The changes can be found in two parts of the song. Where Pierre usually sings “Trying to figure out the time zones is making me crazy”, the lyrics now go “A l’autre bout du monde promets-moi de ne jamais m’oublier” (translation: At the other side of the world, promise me to never forget me) and when Marie-Mai usually sings “Turn the hour hand back to when you were holding me”, in the Canadian version, she sings: “Chaque seconde sans toi devient une éternité” (translation: Every second without you feels like forever).

Update:

According to Charbel though, this version isn’t actually “new” as the radio’s been playing it for about a year now. Nevertheless, it deserved it’s own post. :)
