Seb’s new blog
20th April 2010 // Permalink // 1 Comment

Sebastien posted a new blog on his MySpace page explaining what’s currently going on in the guys’ lives, how is the new record going and what is Sebastien up to in the next couple of days. Check it out:

Some news from the north.

So, i guess what are wandering right about now what the hell we are doing these days. Well, the boys and i are still writing for the next SP record.

Fear not, studio time is soon on the horizon, and that will be filled with song clips and entertaining vlogs and possibly mlogs when we actually learn the songs. Like with every record, we try to bring you the best of the best, hence writing always takes a bit longer than we originally think. We are still missing a couple more songs to turn this into the record we will feel you will love.

SO WE KEEP AT IT! Hard work will pay off we think.

Also, there might be some new Seb song coming before all that. I’ve had time to finish a few here on my own, so stay tuned for that also.

This is where we are at. Now back to my muffins and hardware store!

/Seb

MOTH is moving to Virgin Radio 96 Montreal
20th March 2010 // Permalink // No Comments

The latest episode of Man Of The Hour Hour, which aired on Thursday was the last MOTH episode aired on idobi radio, which hosted this show for 4 years. But don’t worry – this is NOT the end for Man Of The Hour – it’s only moving to another radio station – particularly to Virgin Radio 96 Montreal, where the MOTH show will air from March 21st every Sunday from 9pm to 10pm EST (of course it will also be released as a podcast to download afterwards).

Don’t forget that the last MOTH on idobi radio re-runs today from 3pm EST. So don’t forget to tune in on your iTunes!

Sebastien and Patrick informed about this big change few days ago in their latest blog:

Man of the Hour show on VIRGIN RADIO

..It’s true.

The Man of the Hour show is moving. After 4 years on Idobi internet Radio, we are gonna start doing this show on Virgin Radio right here in Montreal.

The show will air on Sunday nights at 9PM EST till 10PM.

DON’T WORRY! You can still tune in live to listen right here http://montreal.virginradio.ca/player and the show, as always, will be turned into a podcast. Just stay tuned for more details on that.

That’s it! This is really big news.

We love you all!!

Pat & Seb

Also, the new radio station that will from now on air the MOTH show – Virgin Radio 96 Montreal – published an interesting article about Patrick’s and Sebastien’s radio show. Here you can check it out:

Source: Virgin Radio 96 Montreal

For over 3 years now, Simple Plan’s Sebastien Lefebvre and long-time friend Patrick Langlois from MusiquePlus have teamed up to create Man Of The Hour, a new music podcast available on iTunes. Through their extensive knowledge of music and obvious camaraderie, Sebastien and Patrick fill up the Man Of The Hour Show with fun, facts and the best new music.

With over 200,000 downloads per podcast episode it was only a matter of time before the guys kicked it up a notch and took things to another level: terrestrial radio!

Starting March 21st, The Man of the Hour show will be presented weekly on Montreal’s Virgin Radio from 9pm to 10pm.

If you’re a long time listener, fear not, the show will remain the same: silly, funny, informative and filled with the best new music. New listeners will be treated to something different in the radio landscape in what is sure to be a standout hour on Sunday nights.

Sebastien Lefebvre plays guitar for multi-platinum Canadian band Simple Plan. With over 8 million records sold, a platinum-selling DVD and countless radio hits, Simple Plan has been a staple in the music scene since 2001. Sebastien has toured the world 9 times over playing with the band and is getting geared up to enter the studio to record the follow up to 2007’s self-titled record. Sebastien also has a cat who likes to pee under the dinning table.

Patrick Langlois has worked in the music industry for over 10 years now. After starting out with Donald K Donald, Patrick toured the world with Simple Plan and has directed 3 DVD’s for the band. The platinum selling “A Big Package for You” earned Patrick a JUNO Nomination for best director. For almost two years now, Patrick has worked as a mobile journalist for MusiquePlus interviewing some of the world’s most successful acts. Patrick is also afraid of rattle snakes, sharks and tigers.

Since Virgin Radio has announced the arrival of Sebastien and Patrick on their airwaves, the Montreal Canadiens are on a 6 games winning streak and the weather has been better than ever. Coincidence? We think not.

New Sebastien’s song and blog
3rd March 2010 // Permalink // 1 Comment

Sebastien promised few days ago that he would post a new song of his soon – and here it is! The song is called Tu Me Manques and you can listen to it on Sebastien’s MySpace.

Apart from a new song, Seb also posted a new blog:

Yesterday

Yesterday i was part of an event called Busking For Change, presented by Warchild. Me and a bunch of fantastic Montreal artists started busking around the Montreal Underground and all the money we gathered was going straight to Warchild.

While i was wandering what song to play yesterday, i played a song that you guys had never heard before. So i decided to put it up on mySpace.
This song is all in french and it’s called “Tu Me Manques” and it talks about missing someone while on tour.

On another note, the Olympics were AWESOME! Sorry we had to keep it a secret. If you missed it, here it is!!

Seb’s blog & video from the MOTH studio
19th December 2009 // Permalink // No Comments

Few days ago, Sebastien posteda blog on his MySpace along with a video, which captures his stay in the Man Of The Hour studio, where he recorded a cover of the song “Can’t Stop Partying” (originally by Weezer). Check them out in here:

A gift for X-Mas

Have you noticed that in Futurama, they actually pronounce the “x” and call it “X”-Mas?
Anyhoo, i did this cover live a couple weeks ago to spice up the show and i decided to do a proper recording of this song. It’s quite different than the way i did it live…

I picked this song first because i thought it was a fun song coming from a band like Weezer. Then listening to the lyrics, i noticed that it’s a really really sad song, it’s almost like a confession. That being said, i got on the piano and wanted to make a sad version of it, instead of a party version.

This video shows you how a go about recording songs… And what happens on a day in the Man of the Hour Studio.

Enjoy and Happy X-Mas everyone!!!

/ Seb

Season greetings!

December is finally here, and the holidays are almost upon us!

We hope you guys have been enjoying the last few months of ’09.

If you’ve been following the band’s twitter streams at @simpleplan, @pierrebouvier,@officialSPChuck, and @seblefebvre you’d know that the band has been busy writing for the new album.

The band has been so inspired that the writing process for this album is just flowing! The band will be entering the studio to record their new songs early 2010 and hope to have a new record out before the end of next year! They’re all looking forward to sharing the songs with you in the New Year. I’m sure the guys will start dropping clues to as what to expect for the new album, so make sure you visit the site, follow their twitters, and hit up their Myspace regularly!

While you’re out and about shopping this month make sure to pick up some cool SP merch for your friends and family (and maybe even yourself) from the Band’s web store at MerchDirect (www.merchdirect.com/simpleplan). There are some special new items as well as last runs of some vintage SP merch that you’d like to get your hands before they are all gone.

‘Tis the Season for Giving! Don’t forget to pick up the cool new WarChild bracelet at a Spring & Aldo store near you in support of “One Brick At A Time”. The sale of the bracelets raised over 100K last year which helped build two new sustainable schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo which allowed over 600 students to return to school after years of civil war. The bracelets are only $5 so make sure to pick up a few this Holiday season and spread some good cheer! Check out the link for a store near you.

Seb’s new blog
10th November 2009 // Permalink // No Comments

Sebastien posted a new blog on his MySpace page, where he talks about the writing process of the band & his own songs and about his plans for winter. Check it out:

Writing songs
Hello People.

So, as you all know, we’ve all been at home writing some songs for the next record. Things are going pretty good and we should have a time frame of studio time by the end of the month if all goes according to plan, which it rarely does.

I wrote of bunch of pieces for some rock songs and bunch of pieces for other purposes… We’ll see where they end up. I could have the next EP written by the time we hit the studio and become frantically busy with SP. It’s all good, i’m looking forward to seeing you all again at the shows.

Here’s a question, i’m looking to go somewhere not too super far from montreal for new years, any suggestions? Somewhere to escape the winter for a couple weeks.

Lastly, i wanna thank you all for the support and nice comments. I know i don’t reply to all of you on Twitter and on here, but, i try to read a lot of them when i’m not in the studio and it warms my heart to see the love that you have for me and for the band.

See you soon everyone!

Seb
