It seems like Simple Plan will be staying Down Under for a little longer than we’ve expected! It has just been announced that they will be performing on June 17th on a V8 Supercar event’s concert called “Race & Rock” in Darwin, Australia alongside acts like The Potbelleez on the same day and Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss the day before.

The Chief Minister for the Northern Territory, Mr. Paul Henderson has stated that “Simple Plan has enjoyed incredible success all over the world, so to have them perform here for Territorians at the V8 Supercars is a real coup.”

During their Australian tour, on June 5th (while having two days off in between concerts) Simple Plan will once again stop in Sydney, to take part in Take 40′s Live Lounge, which is a one-hour performance, during which fans have a unique opportunity to experience a very intimate concert of their favourite band. The tickets are already on sale.

As of this moment, some of the member of Simple Plan are already back home in Canada, some of them back in the States and they are all enjoying some well-deserved time-off. On Saturday the band played their last show (for about a month) – in Tel-Aviv, Israel, where they’ve gathered quite a few souvenirs (as you can see on the picture on the left).

A highlight of this concert was a moment right before Perfect, when Pierre asked the crowd to be silent for a while before he comes back and says something important. It took him two takes, but finally manage to announce that “Simple Plan’s single is coming out in the United States”.

Since Simple Plan are currently promoting their single Summer Paradise, I’m assuming this is the single they are talking about (and that it really arrives to the US only now). This could be a fairly good news for the US fans because if the band gets lots of radio play in the country, the chances of them coming back there are even better. And so far, with Get Your Heart On!, Simple Plan haven’t really spent much time in the US.

It’s been known already for a couple of months that Simple Plan will be getting back to Europe in June for a couple of local summer festivals – particularly in Spain, Sweden, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

But that’s not all the countries the guys will be stopping by! Simple Plan will also be visiting Berlin and Hamburg in Germany on June 20th and 21st (which is coincidentally also the 1st anniversary of the release of their most recent album “Get Your Heart On!”). According to the press release, the members of the band should be there mostly for promotion (that is giving interviews and such). But apart from that, the same day that Simple Plan will be in Hamburg, that is on June 20th, the band will also drive to a pretty close city of Kiel, where they will play a circa 45-minute set.

Yesterday, Simple Plan rocked Glasgow, in Scotland and wrapped up the second leg of their European tour, which has so far been one of the biggest they have ever done on this continent. They even had to split it into two halves: during the first one they visited Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Austria and Italy and the second one included Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Belgium and finally the United Kingdom.

To end the tour on a high note, the local fans in Glasgow prepared something special for the band, when during This Song Saved My Life they held up letters and signs, all filled with Simple Plan related confessions. The letters then have been crumpled and thrown on stage for the band to see.

Also, Travis Clark (the lead singer of the opening band We The Kings) decided to watch Simple Plan one last time and said some very nice words about the band in one of his tweets: “Watching Simple Plan…they are seriously so good live!! Love this tour to death.” Of course this is not the last stop for We The Kings and Simple Plan together! They will say their goodbyes only for a moment till they see each other again in a month, when they are touring Australia together.

And we here in Europe won’t have to miss the boys for very long – we already know that they are coming back very soon. In June they already have a couple of festivals lined up and apart from that it is said that they are also planning a return to Europe in fall of 2012.

Due to an massive request from their local fanbase, Simple Plan have decided to add two more dates to their Australian tour, where the guys are heading at the beginning of June. Both dates are set for North Queensland – particularly in Mackay and Townsville. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, May 10th.

Their opening bands for the Australian tour – We The Kings and The Never Ever unfortunately can’t be present for these two shows (as We The Kings have to return to the US for Warped Tour) and instead Simple Plan will be joined by opening acts from the area.
