Yesterday, on May 2nd, Simple Plan performed on their second stop in the United Kingdom – in the city of Manchester. Laura sent me a couple of her photos from this show and you can now check them out the in gallery:

Simple Plan have been confirmed as one of the performers on this year’s festival “International de montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu” in Canada, on August 16th 2012. Check out more info below:

Simple Plan (along with their opening band We The Kings) performed in London, UK last night for a completely sold-out HMV Forum.

Among the crowd was also Dan Hetherton, who you may remember as the drummer for Elliot Minor (a band that toured with SP in Europe four years ago), and who came to see his good old friends from Simple Plan. Dan himself later complimented SP when he tweeted: “Simple Plan were wicked as usual! Amazing live band.”

But one of the biggest surprises happened on the soundcheck before the show, when the guys from Simple Plan played two covers of Blink 182 – “All The Small Things” and “Family Reunion”, and then also from Red Hot Chili Peppers – the song “Suck My Kiss”. And to spice it all up a little bit, during these covers, Pierre was behind the drum set and while during “Suck My Kiss” David was singing, during “Family Reunion” Chuck was at the mic, singing… or well, rapping.

After a week of touring France, this weekend, Simple Plan have returned to Switzerland, where they played in Zurich, and then on Sunday to Belgium, where they were one of the headlining acts at the Groezrock festival.

As the Belgic Groezrock festival defines itself as a “punk-rock and hardcore” festival (just look at its line-up), Simple Plan were naturally a bit afraid to play some of their more “pop-ish” songs. That’s why (and also because they only had a 1 hour set), you can see many changes to their setlist – for example you won’t find the “party medley” on it, and neither the final Perfect.

Despite all that though, Simple Plan’s show on this festival has been a huge success.

Time flies. There’s no doubt. Today, on April 27th 2012, the Czech fans commemorate 4 years since the first ever Simple Plan show in the Czech Republic. The guys stopped in this country during their tour to promote their third, self-titled record, and with thier concert managed to blow away the crowd that consisted of about 3 000 people.

Ever since then, the band has appeared in the Czech Republic once again – in September 2011 and not even a year after that – and just in 2 months, they will play here again – at the Prague City Festival, on June 29th 2012.
