Last night’s events have proven to all the Simple Plan fans out there that you should never miss any chances to go to a show of a certain artist, if you know that A) Simple Plan are in town and B) Simple Plan actually have a duet with this artist on their upcoming album, because you never know who might appear as a surprise guest on the artist’s show. That’s exactly what happened on last night’s Marie-Mai show in Bell Centre, Montreal – in the midst of her show, Pierre Bouvier with his gang behind his back appeared on the stage ready to sing for the first time ever the live version of their new single Jet Lag with Marie-Mai.

Marie Mai was thrilled about last night’s performace with Simple Plan: “I’ve been a fan of Simple Plan since I was in high school. Sharing the stage with them is a dream come true for me! They are extremely generous guys. And our energy together onstage created an unforgettable moment for me.”

The members of Simple Plan also didn’t hide their excitement from having the opportunity to sing with Marie-Mai as a part of her concert: “We loved being part of Marie-Mai’s show in the Bell Centre tonight, and playing our new song ‘Jet Lag’ live for the first time in a duet with her. The audience reaction was incredible! We congratulate our dear friend Marie-Mai for her triumph tonight and thank her again for the invitation!”

It may be hard to believe for most of the fans, but it has indeed been already 3 years since we enjoyed the glorious show of our favourite Canadians – Simple Plan – in the capital city of the Czech Republic: Prague. April 27th 2008 brought us an unforgetable set including the song Thank You (renamed to “DÄ›kuji” and partialy sung in Czech), Pierre’s singing directly in the crowd during Untitled or the song about Prague “I’m in Praho”:

A great part of the show has also been the amazing entry of some Simple Plan members on the stage in white tracksuits during the Elliot Minor (the opening band) show or when most of the crowd decided to hold hundreds of “Thank You” signs above their heads during the last song of the Simple Plan set.

Another awesome thing about the day for many fans were the little signing sessions in front of the venue before the show (Chuck and Sebastien) and behind the venue before and also after the show. Also, before the show I had the opportunity (during a ride to the Evropa 2 radio station) to interview Pierre, David and Jeff in a not-really-adequate-atmosphere in the back seat of a van (no Rebecca Black reference). We haven’t had any new Simple Plan concert dates for a while right? Well, then let me treat you with two festivals, that have recently confirmed Simple Plan on their programme: first, there is a festival Les Grandes Fetes du St-Laurent in Canada at the end of July and second, the festival Rock En Seine in France at the end of August.

(Even though at first it seemed that the Canadian festival date may be in a scheduling conflict with a date on Warped Tour, Chuck confirmed that Simple Plan really are playing two shows in one day – and in two different countries.)

And the parade of the just announced European shows continues – this time Simple Plan have been confirmed in Switzerland (thanks to Andee for the info), where they haven’t been for quite a while. The guys are set to perform on the Open Air Gampel festival, on August 20th, alongside bands like The Offspring, Guano Apes or Yellowcard.

There are still new European Simple Plan concert dates coming up! Thanks to Sara and Viv we found out that Simple Plan will be performing in Hamburg, Germany on June 1st, which is the earliest confirmed Simple Plan show in their upcoming European promo-tour before releasing their upcoming record. So far Simple Plan have 3 confirmed shows in Germany – a club show in Hamburg and two festivals: Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring.

Thanks to Sab we have here a brand new information about another headlining Simple Plan show in Europe – this time in Paris, France, on June 7th. This show fills up a bit the blank space between Simple Plan’s shows in Germany and the United Kingdom.
