After whole four years since establishing, Simple Plan’s official fanclub – SP Crew – finally changed its look!

The new version of SP Crew matches the design of Simple Plan’s official website and apart from the common community functions that stay from the previous version, it now also offers such functions as blogs or adding photos from SP members themselves.

The official website SimplePlan.com announced that beginning December 1st, 2010, $1 of every membership and every renewal to Simple Plan’s Official Fan Club – SPCrew – will be donated to the Simple Plan Foundation!

Becoming a member you will find new friends and get great opportunities to meet the band, get access to exclusive videos, photos, contests and great gifts for each year of membership:

Yesterday some Simple Plan fans had their dreams come true when they had a chance to go to Simple Plan’s recording studio in Vancouver, Canada, sing on the song This Song Saved My Life and as such be a part of the new Simple Plan record forever. By the way, this is the last song that Simple Plan are recording for the album.

Chuck and Pierre agree that the fans sang beautifully. “Not gonna lie to you guys… getting a little choked up! So rad to have members of the SP family being a part of our record,” said Chuck.

Oh, and just so you know, this wasn’t the last chance of the fans to be a part of the new album – the guys are currently working on a way, how to get all the fans included in the recording process. I will keep you posted on this matter, cause I’m sure you wouldn’t wanna miss opportunity like that ;)

As I have promised you, I’ve got a huge pack of pictures from Saturday, when Simple Plan played at the I-Day Festival in Bologna, Italy, for you. Interesting fact: About 35 000 people came to see the performances of The Leeches, All Time Low, Simple Plan, Sum 41 and Blink 182 at this festival.

About 4pm, the SP Crew meet&greet took place in the “hospitality area”. You can already check out my pictures from the meet&greet in the gallery, along with professional pictures of Simple Plan from backstage and from the show itself. I should be receiving many more pictures from the meet&greet soon, so I’ll keep you posted:

Our colleagues from SPB.com revealed a title of another song that was written by Pierre and Chuck. Once again – it’s not sure if the song is a new song or an old song and if it’s even gonna be used on the upcoming album, but anyway – the guys collaborated on it with Mitch Allan from the band SR-71 (who already worked with e.g. Bowling For Soup) and the song’s called “Famous For Nothing”

Also, Chuck talked about his favourite song they wrote for the upcoming album\ during yesterday’s webchat with the SP Crew members (official SP fanclub) – and if you remember this post, you already know that there should be a song on the new SP record about the Simple Plan fans and about how the SP songs have changed their lives. And according to Chuck, the name of this song should be “This Song Saved My Life” .
