Mackenzie 1st is a canadian pop-punk band, which released their debut – self-titled – album this year (on October 13th 2009). They became very popular in their country and that’s mainly because of a support from Simple Plan’s lead guitarist – Jeff Stinco!

In the interview for Confront Magazine the members of Mackenzie 1st confirmed their collaboration with Jeff:

Despite it having taken ten years for the band to release their first full-length album on Universal/Tab Records, they have been fortunate enough to work with several incredibly influential people in the music business, even early in their career.

One of the people they spent some time working with was Jeff Stinco from Simple Plan. Stinco mainly helped the band at the beginning by word of mouth, which was crucial for Mackenzie First in order to be noticed by the right people.

“When we reached out to different people to try to help us, a lot of people had already heard about us through Jeff. So he did a great deal of talking about us and in the beginning it led to some wonderful things for the future” explained band’s lead singer Dave.
