It’s been almost 2 years now that SimplePlan.cz has been sporting the purple/blue/pink robe and over those two years it has become probably the most recognizable look of this website yet. In order to make you still feel like “home”, I did not want to make any drastic changes design-wise with the next update, however there were some things that definitely needed some work done. And after weeks of hard work, I’m happy to welcome you to the revamped SimplePlan.cz!
One of the biggest changes is the use of excerpts with thumbnails on the main news page! That means you will no longer have to scroll through all the contents of all the newsposts just to get to the next pages or to read that one post you are really interested in. Instead, you will be able to check out the title and by clicking on the “read more” button the entire article will reveal itself.
Under each post you can now also find a “related posts” feature, which will lead you through many other articles related to the same topic as the original post.
On larger screens (tablets or computers) you will now also find a new feature above the news on the main page – a slider of “featured news”, which will be rotating a number of the most important posts of the past few weeks. You won’t miss any major news ever again!
When scrolling down the page, I’m sure you’ll also notice the top semi-transparent bar following you, allowing you to always be able to switch to a different language version (in case you land on the “wrong” one) or to visit one of our social media pages..
Another big change is the structure of the inside sections on SimplePlan.cz. Whenever you visit any of them, they will appear in a full-size with – without any sidebar on the right. I’m sure this will make browsing through the sections even more pleasant from now on.
Besides these changes, you may also notice some smaller things, such as that newsposts are now wider with bigger and much more legible font or that many of the sections have been edited and revamped.
