The Czech Simple Plan fans have been waiting for another SP show ever since the last one (and also the first one) back in 2008. One of the questions I had to answer the most in the past few years on this website was “When will the guys come back to the CR?”. My answers had to be usually very vague, as there were no indicators to when exactly the guys may be coming back, apart from the notorious: “They will come back to every country they have already visited and also will go to those they have never been to before.” But it seems like this time I may finally have something more specific for you :)

Thanks to Monika, who attended yesterday’s Simple Plan show in London, we found out that Sim (the so-called “new Patrick” / merch guy) spilled the beans about the fact that Simple Plan are “definitely heading back to the Czech Republic” and that they will show up there till the end of this year.

This news pretty much fits with the other rumours we heard in the past few months: about SP’s possible European tour with You Me At Six in November and the fact that the band will probably come back to Europe either at the end of this year or the beginning of the next one.

One thing is clear though: if you want Simple Plan to come and play in your country, you have to make sure to vote for their songs and keep them in the radio charts and the music videos on TV – if the band has good responses from the country, there is a much higher chance they will come there.

The official website of the Hungarian festival called SZIN just added Simple Plan on their programme for August 25th 2011. So far, the show has not been confirmed by the band, but if it was really happening, it would be the first Simple Plan show in Hungary:

The last week has been filled with lots of little special news that are definitely worth mentioning. So, here is the recap:

Not only have Simple Plan been recently nominated for one of the MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVA), but they have also been confirmed as one of the performers at this year’s MMVAs! The show will take place on June 19th 2011 in Canada.

In last night’s live webchat (apart from other things) Simple Plan have also mentioned they like to visit various Simple Plan fansites and Pierre even mentioned SimplePlan.cz as the first one, saying he likes it (and according to other sources apparently visits every day) and Chuck added it’s really good :) Also, the band is currently trying to figure out a name for all their fans (just like Lady Gaga has her “monsters”). So far the one with the most votes seems to be “the astronauts” (according to the song Astronaut, which goes like this: “So I’m calling all the astronauts, all the lonely people that the world forgot”). What are your thought on “the astronauts”?

In the last few days I got plenty of comments from you guys asking if have a right to post the YouTube videos of the live versions of new SP songs that haven’t been released yet – that means Astronaut and Last One Standing. So I let my little soldiers ask Pierre what he thinks about it and Pierre said it was okay and that he and the band don’t mind at all.

And a little cherry on top: Frank Borin, a long-time friend of SP and a director of 6 of their music videos, was shooting a commercial in the Czech Republic in the past two days. I had the opportunity to chat a bit with him, forwarded all you guys’ greetings and Frank was very pleased to hear about all the positive reactions on his Jet Lag video. He even said he was supposed to tour with Simple Plan on this promo tour (Poland, Germany…) but unfortunately had to work.

Chances are you have probably already heard the song Freaking Me Out as it has already “officially” leaked onto the internet. But what you might not know yet is what exactly it is about. The guys from Simple Plan answered this question in the new video from the “Track by track” series, this time, about “Freaking Me Out”:

Simple Plan have just published on their official website the first sneak peak of the booklet for their upcoming album Get Your Heart On!, which is being released only in a few days. The sneak peak shows the part of booklet which includes the official lyrics to the song Astronaut and you can check out its full version in the gallery:
