RECAP: Chuck reveals more info about NPNHJB anniversary tour in a live webchat

As announced earlier, Alternative Press hosted a special Simple Plan webchat on their Facebook page regarding their upcoming NPNHJB tour yesterday, which was initially supposed to feature both Pierre and Chuck, however it was only Chuck who eventually turned up for the 50-minutes-long livestream.

In the webchat, Chuck opened up about the band’s plans for the NPNHJB anniversary tour, places they want to visit with this tour, what the setlist could look like and a lot more.

Since the webchat was quite long and some questions from fans kept repeating, if you don’t wish to watch the whole thing again, let me bring you up to speed of what has been said in the following recap:

NPNHJB 15th anniversary tour

– The band wishes to bring this tour to many countries throughout the whole of 2017

– The closest plans for this tour as of right now is Europe in spring/summer around the already announced tourdates, which translates to May/June – dates should be announced “as soon as possible”, as the guys are still sorting out the scheduling for these shows

Other places that SP wish to bring the tour to (and which Chuck mentioned in this webchat) include Mexico, South America, Australia, Japan and Canada. Most, if not all of these countries should get their No Pads tour around fall 2017.

– Regarding Canada, the band is aware that they are doing a tour in march that includes only 4 cities, which will not get the “No Pads” treatment, which is why they plan on doing a proper cross-country Canadian tour sometime in 2017.

The setlist

– It seems that the setlist will follow the order of the songs on the NPNHJB album – the band will play all the songs from the album and throw in also a couple of No Pads b-sides (such as Grow Up, One By One, Surrender etc.)

– After playing the whole No Pads album, for an encore, the band will return to the stage with a series of their greatest hits, which will include songs like Welcome To My Life, Jet Lag, Shut Up, Your Love Is A Lie, Boom etc.

Other info

– Chuck mentioned he wanted to put a cover of Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ on the band’s party medley for the TOFTT tour, however his bandmates said no

David will be back for the Canadian shows in March (first SP shows this year)

– Chuck will try to get Mark Hoppus from Blink 182 (who was featured on I’d Do Anything) to come to one of the NPNHJB shows

– there are plans on the release of special NPNHJB 15th anniversary merch for this tour
