Sebastien to replace David on bass for South American tour

Ever since the news of David not attending the South American leg of the Simple Plan tour due to personal reasons broke yesterday, the question on everyone’s mind [besides the actual reasons of his absense, which we urge you to leave be, as per request of the band] was who would take care of the bass during the shows. Whether it would be a member of the band or whether the band would hire an additional person to play the bass for the course of the tour.

The answer came today with another Instagram video by Herby Moreau (thanks Raph for pointing this out), which captures the start of Simple Plan’s first soundcheck in Brazil – in Sao Paulo – today. In this video, you can see that it was Sebastien, who picked up the bass. Sebastien was of course the obvious choice, as him and David do switch their instruments at every show for one part anyway.

It’s also fair to note that when the first part of the soundcheck attendees (due to the extreme amount of people at soundchecks in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, soundcheck people were sorted into three groups, each going in, listening to 2 songs at soundcheck, getting a group picture with the band, before the next group would be let in) got inside the venue, Sebastien was seen playing his regular mint guitar. It is therefore possible that he might switch between an electric guitar and a bass guitar throughout the shows on the South American tour.
