Simple Plan talk about Musik exposition

You may remember how back in August the guys recorded something for a “special project” with the director Sacha Ouimet and we only knew about it from the couple of pictures that were revealed through Twitter.

Now we finally know what it was all about: the guys recorded a special message about the importance of music and about how it can affect people’s lives – all that to support the upcoming exhibition called “Musik” which will be available at the Montreal Science Center from November 2nd to March 10th.

You can check out the videos both in English and in French:

Thanks to Clémence, here is the translation of the French video (the parts that are not the same as in the English version):

Pierre: “Music has an incredible impact on life: It can change decisions you make, it changes your mood, the desire to go to one place rather than another.”

Chuck: “As soon as you get into your car, you turn on the radio: and the music is there. People go to the gym, they jog, they have their i-pod.

Jeff: “If you listen to classical music when you practice, I can guarantee that you will train less. But put on some hard rock and it’s gonna be such a different workout.”

Chuck: “The song ”This Song Saved My Life”, was written as a reaction to the fact that so many fans around the world tell us how music has helped them. We had hundreds of letters from fans who also usually come up to us after shows and say “Without this song, I wouldn’t even be here today.” And we wanted to write a song about that.

Jeff: “We underestimate the power of the music in our lives. I think we are just beginning to understand a little bit what music can do, what kind of feelings it triggers, that music can take you to a different place. It’s a new kind of science and it’s really really fascinating.

Chuck: “The interesting part for us is to discover that there is a science behind music. It’s human to practice music and to react to it, so it’s very interesting to learn about all that.
