Simple Plan to start working on a new album early next year!

Yes, Get Your Heart On! has been in our CD players, shelves or boxes for not even a year and there are already talks about Simple Plan’s follow-up CD! I’m not talking about the promised EP with some more music coming up, which we know is already in works – I’m talking about another proper record.

In an interview for Journal de Montreal from yesterday’s Juno Gala Dinner, Chuck is talking about possibly starting working on a new album early 2013:

After Christmas, we should start working on a new CD. But by then, we should already have something special for our fans: a book, a DVD, and a little more music. We shoot at each show, backstage and on stage. There is a little surprise coming. “

Now let’s sum this up. We already know that at least some of the upcoming projects (photobook, DVD or EP) should probably come out by the end of this year. If Simple Plan start working on a new album early 2013, that should mean at least half a year of writing (but there is always a high chance that this period might be longer), then 2-3 months of recording, and with a couple more months of post-production we could be able to add a new record to our collection maybe sometimes in 2014.

That seems rather possible since the gap between two Simple Plan albums is usually somewhere between 2-4 years. Let’s just hope it’s sooner than later!

Are you already looking forward the 5th Simple Plan record? Which way do you think the band should decide to go with it this time around?
