PREVIEW: Simple Plan’s version of the soundtrack song “The Heroes”

The soundtrack to the upcoming new animated movie “La Guerre des Tuques 3D” (“The Dog Who Stopped The War 3D” – in theatres from November 13th), which I reported about a couple weeks ago, is now finally available in stores in Canada, as well as available for online purchase on iTunes since yesterday.

A large number of renowned Canadian artists contributed to this soundtrack – with songs in French and in English – most notably Celine Dion, Walk Off The Earth and Simple Plan.

On this soundtrack, Simple Plan recorded the English version of the original French song “Les héros” by Jonathan Painchaud, which means it is not a Simple Plan song, but rather a cover version. As of right now, the full version of the Simple Plan’s version of the song – called “The Heroes” – is not available anywhere, however for the first time, you can listen to the preview of it right here (via Archambault):

AUDIO: Interview with Seb about Million Meals Movement

Last week, Sebastien Lefebvre was interviewed by the Kool FM radio station about Simple Plan’s upcoming appearance at the Million Meals Movement event on May 23rd. According to Seb, the band will be performing songs from all four of their albums at this event and he rejected the possibility of them playing any new songs as the band is still in the process of writing. Check out the interview here [thanks CSP for finding it]:

Making of the 5th Simple Plan album: 2 songs already written

While we keep on getting short updates on how the recording of the Simple Plan EP is coming, I am sure most of you are also just as anxious to hear how the guys are doing with their next upcoming project – their 5th studio album. In the recent interview Chuck Comeau did regarding the just announced Perth show for Music Feeds, he admitted that him and Pierre have already started working on the lyrics 2 weeks ago and that they already manage to get 2 done.

Check out an excerpt for the interview and you can also listen to the whole podcast in an audio form below:

Music Feeds: “How far into the process [of making the 5th album] are you guys?”

Chuck: “Honestly, we just started last week* so we probably did 2 songs last week and we’re just sort of getting the rust off and just getting into it. It’s really fun. We toured for a year and half, 2 years on the last record, so we’re definitely excited to come up with new songs. The tour was great and I think it made us very motivated and pumped-up to make our 5th record. We’re very stoked and blessed that we’re still here, still playing music and still have a bunch of fans, so it’s exciting. It gets us really stoked to keep it up.”

* interview was recorded last Thursday, which means Pierre and Chuck have been working on the songs for about 2 weeks now

AUDIO: Pierre and Seb performing acoustically for B104

The guys did a little improv setlist and changed it around according to the fans’ wishes – the final setlist looked like this:

2. Summer Paradise
3. Addicted
4. Perfect
5. Crazy
