Chuck and Patrick to be a part of celebrity hockey game
On March 10th, the Fondation des Résidences Mance-Décary is hosting a special celebrity hockey game that will try to raise funds for the residents of the nursing home at the Des Segneurs et Saint-Henri center. The celebrity team will have many Canadian personalities – such as the comedian Jean-Thomas Jobin, the speed skater Isabelle Charest or our very own Chuck Comeau and his long-time friend Patrick Langlois. The celebrities will play against a team of sponsors and members of the foundation.
The game will start at 3:30pm at the Sylvio-Mantha arena in Montreal, Canada and the tickets are available for $15.
There are also two spots on the celebrity team open to public, for the cost of $500 and three positions of assistant coaches for $250.
I’ve updated the gallery with a batch of awesome new photos from the Simple Plan Foundation benefit event from last Sunday, submitted by Charbel from Canada:

Simple Plan Foundation benefit show: SPF raises more than $250 000 this year
Yesterday afternoon, Simple Plan held their annual Simple Plan Foundation benefit event at the Montreal Science Center in Montreal, Canada. The event attracted a couple hundreds of guests which included fans, friends and families of the band members and various important personalities of the music industry.
At the press conference, that took place at 10:30am, a couple hours before the benefit event started, Simple Plan announced that this year, they managed to raise more than $250,000 which will be later donated to 27 charities and organisations thoroughly chosen by the band. “This is the largest amount awarded annually since the start of our foundation,” said Jeff Stinco. Thanks to the donations, the Sainte-Justine Hospital will be able to set up a multimedia room for its patients with chronic illness and the Dr Julien Foundation will be able to pursue its Garage music project, which supports young people who want to play musical instruments.
When the attendees were let in, the band took a couple minutes to greet them and followed with an acoustic concert that included songs like Jet Lag, Astronaut, Summer Paradise, Untitled, Everytime and for the first time ever – an acoustic version of This Song Saved My Life, which you can check out below:
During the event, the participants were also able to take part in a silent auction that included some very interesting items, such as a signed plaque commemorating 1 million sold units of Simple Plan albums in Canada, dinner with the members of the band, acoustic guitar signed by Katy Perry, hockey stick signed by Simple Plan, a round of golf with Chuck, guitar lesson given by Jeff, Sebastien’s suitcase and many more items.
Towards the end of the event, the band also took time to mingle among the crowd and take pictures and sign to every fan around.
Make sure to check out the updated albums in the gallery that feature pictures from the press conference and from the benefit show itself.

Today is a very important day for Simple Plan. Just like every year for the past 5 years, the band is hosting their annual benefit event for the Simple Plan Foundation. This year’s event features an acoustic concert by Simple Plan, a silent auction, lunch and also a very special exhibition called “Musik: From Sound To Emotion”.
As always, the guys started the day off with a press conference, hosted by Eric Salvail and Isabelle Racicot, where the band officially announced that their goal of reaching 1 million dollars in donations has been accomplished.
Thanks to Janie from Tempo-Mag.com, here are the very first pictures from today’s press conference:
Since this week is the first one that Simple Plan are back in Canada ever since their new book entitled “Simple Plan: The Official Story” got published in its French version, we are about to experience an awesome couple of days filled with SP news.
Firstly, through-out the whole week, all members of Simple Plan will be attending four book signings – starting in Montreal on Tuesday at Librairie Monet, then heading to Quebec City on Wednesday, to Laval on Friday and finally attending the book signing at Salon du Livre once again back home in Montreal, Canada. More info about the book signings can be found here.
And all that will then lead to the most anticipated event of the last few months – the 5th annual Simple Plan Foundation benefit event that is taking place on Sunday. This year’s event will include lunch, the “Musik: From Sound To Emotion” exhibition (including a part specifically dedicated to Simple Plan), an acoustic Simple plan concert, opportunities to meet the members of the band and also a silent auction. As always, Simple Plan Foundation’s benefit event is a place where the Foundation announces the donations for the next year and also reveals how much money it has raised in the past year.
Fans from all over the world will be travelling for these events, so if you’re one of them and would like to contribute to SP.cz with your pictures or memories on any of these events, make sure to submit them!
