VIDEO: Filming of a scene in Boom music video from overhead view

A very interesting brand new video appeared on the internet yesterday, which documents the filming of Simple Plan’s music video for ‘Boom’ from last summer – but from a litle different perspective – from an overhead view. The scene that the video features was one of the final scenes the band shot for the video – with Pierre in the middle of a crowd of hundreds of Simple Plan fans in Montreal.

Check out this interesting perspective of the shoot below:

Meet co-songwriters of “Boom”: members of Runner Runner

Simple Plan’s song “Boom” has been around for almost a year now [remember when SP first performed it at the SPF event last year?] but only ever since the song’s official release on iTunes and subsequently also its music video‘s release, more new info about this song started popping up online.

That’s why we can finally talk more about the song-writing sessions, during which ‘Boom’ was created, which have one name in common – Runner Runner.

Yes, we can now add two new names to the list of song-writers that Chuck and Pierre from Simple Plan worked with for the songs for their fifth album: musicians Nick Bailey and Ryan Ogren. In fact you may already know these two Americans, as they are both involved in two bands – Over It (rock/pop-punk/melodic hardcore) and Runner Runner (power-pop/pop rock). Besides playing in the two bands, Ryan and Nick also contributed to a couple of other artists’ records with their song-writing. They both previously wrote songs for Emblem 3, Big Time Rush or Issues.

It is interesting to know that while Simple Plan already stated that there would not be many song-writers other than Chuck and Pierre featured on the album, as they prefered the songs they wrote alone, at least one song with additional song-writers made the final tracklist.

Vote for ‘Boom’ on Czech TV Óčko music video chart

It’s been a couple of years now since the last time Simple Plan had a music video on TV [This Song Saved My Life was released two years ago] but the time has finally come now and many TV stations have started to put it in rotation along with many radio stations.

In the Czech Republic, the top TV music channel is TV Óčko, which has always been very positively inclined towards Simple Plan – most notably hosting two Simple Plan specials of their music video chart in 2008 (and inviting through SimplePlan.cz a few fans to the taping) and countless of news coverage about the band in the past few years. And finally, TV Óčko decided to not put Simple Plan’s new music video for ‘Boom’ in rotation, but also put it as a new release into its music chart – “Óčko chart”.

You can now all vote for ‘Boom’ on TV Óčko here and move it to the top of the chart by next Thursday! You can vote only once, so make sure to tell all your friends to do the same.
