As announced earlier this week, Pierre Bouvier landed in Canada yesterday evening and went straight to the En Mode Salvail studios, where he was to take part in the talk show – alone for the very first time. Emilie sent us a little recap of what happened on the show, so make sure to keep on reading!
Eric asked Pierre how he felt without Chuck as his interview buddy (as Pierre is rarely seen doing interviews alone) – Pierre answer was that Chuck kept texting him non-stop that day to make sure that Pierre arrived and he was ok.
Another topic of discussion was Pierre’s vocal cords, which were the cause of Simple Plan postponing their Canadian tour from November to March. Pierre explained that one week after he had returned from a few months tour, he wanted to warm up his voice again, but couldn’t. He went to see his doctor in LA, who suggested to him to rest his voice for a month. Pierre feels absolutely great now and the doctor says he’s ok to sing.
The two also discussed Pierre’s first job at the St-Hubert restaurant – it was revealed that Pierre has in fact almost become the restaurant’s manager, but he left on tour and never came back. Besides that, Piere also confessed he used to be a truck driver for his Dad’s company, and he wrote a few songs during his long journeys.
Eric Salvail revealed an unseen photo from Pierre’s graduating album. The text on it even features a little note written by Chuck. It says: “Pierre Bouvier. Nickname: John Doe, Pierrot, Porcupine, Pete. Catchphrase: Okééé! Motto: Do not think! He likes: J-B, snow, skate, party, music, St-Hubert, Reset, his lynx, JB. He dislikes: Rave, Chuck. Characteristics: cool, charcool, cool style, JB – Hey! New school singer, you are surely the silliest friend of mine, who also benefits the most from me (Drums!) Despite everything, you remain my best friend forever. It is because of you that Reset has made it so far. Chuck.”
About the fact that Pierre took advantage of Chuck, he explained that ever since the beginning of Reset, Chuck has always been like the manager of the band, so he said that Pierre benefited from him, but it was rather Chuck who took advantage of his talent.
Pierre said that he doesn’t think to return to Montreal in large part because of the winter, which is really annoying sometimes. But they often do come back – his daughters love come see their grandparents and play in the snow.
Eric also did a little quiz and asked Pierre about some facts to see if they are still doing them in the pop-rock world:
Has anyone ever broken a guitar in the band? Yes, sometimes. Pierre has never actually broken a guitar, but his bandmates have. People don’t really do this anymore, but you’re still cool if you do it.
Is Pierre a VIP wherever he goes? He wishes, but no, not everywhere.
The most famous party Pierre ever went to? In South Africa, Leo DiCaprio was there too and they saw him a couple times in bars and eventually Leo started to recognize them.
Is it true that girls throw their bras on stage? Yes, it happens very often.
Does it bother him that people film the show with their cellphones? Pierre said it’s a little bit annoying that everybody looks their phone instead of the show but the flash lights are great, the crowd looks like a starry sky.
