LISTEN to the first sneak peek of a demo of a new Simple Plan song “Everything Sux”!
Last night the episode of Accès Illimité revealed not only the name of a new Simple Plan song – Everything Sux, but also revealed Chuck’s and Pierre’s writing process of this song along with the recording of the demo version.
Also, in the second part of the video, the boys listen to the demo version of “Boom”!

Anouk: So guys, after we’ve been enjoying the sun in California, I was wondering how the production of the album works? When do the other guys join in?
Chuck: Usually, the songs always start off with Pierre and I, but once we finish a demo, we send it to them. They listen to it and give us their feedback: I really enjoy this one, I’m not so sure about this one,… This makes it feel like we all come together and that’s when the songs really become Simple Plan songs.
Anouk: How does it work when it’s only the two of you?
Chuck: It’s hard
Pierre: It’s painful, you could compare it to giving birth.
Chuck: You need to know that it takes a lot of work so there can be some tension..
Anouk: Oh right! Like if you don’t agree on certain things…
Pierre: Well no, it’s just that it’s really not easy to have a great idea.
Anouk: You have become very demanding.
Pierre: You have to be! Listen, I’ll play you a song we don’t really agree on.
Anouk: What is it called?
Pierre: It’s called “Boom”.Anouk: When did you guys start working on this album?
Pierre: It’s been over a year. In October of 2013. Oh boy, it hurts saying that!
Anouk: Ouch!
Pierre: At one point, we said to each other “hopefully this will take only about three months”. But I think we are intelligent enough, well maybe it’s not the right word. We are self-conscious enough to realise that guys, if it’s not ready, if it’s not good enough, why would we release it?
Anouk: You wouldn’t just release anything just like that?
Pierre: Yeah, and having two good songs on the album is really not good enough for us. We want twelve songs we honestly love. Because when we go on tour, we travel all over the world. So just imagine, if the album isn’t that great, having to play them for about two years might get annoying.
Chuck: I think, to us, creating this new album doesn’t just happen in two months. There will never be a good timing for a bad album. There will always be a good timing for a really great album.
Pierre: And as long as you create something incredible, it doesn’t matter that the album is about two years late. [makes a face]
Simple Plan reveal new song-title and more on Accès illimité
After lots of promotion, Canadian fans were finally able to watch the special episode of Accès illimité, which featured interesting interviews with the members of the band. The most interesting piece of information that came from this show was a brand new song-title: “Everything Sux”, which according to Jeff is one of his favorite tracks from the new album! Unfortunately, according to the representatives of Accès illimité, the show will not be available for the rest of the world.
