Update: Sorry, the previously reported news that SP might be performing with Agnes Monica may just be a rumor and nothing else. Will keep you posted if anything changes.

In the gallery, you can now check out some more pictures of Simple Plan in Indonesia already from today: there are some from the hotel that Simple Plan are staying at, where they were greeted by a couple of fans this morning, then from one interview for local media and lastly from the soundcheck for Viva La Vida:

Also, don’t forget that you can watch the event live today online! See this article for more info.

French version of Jet Lag (feat. Coeur De Pirate)
7th November 2012 // Permalink // 2 Comments

As I’ve mentioned in this article today, Simple Plan have recorded also a French version of Jet Lag that is featuring one of its co-writers – the Canadian singer Coeur De Pirate (real name: Beatrice Martin). Thanks to Aurélie I found out that the NRJ radio station has actually already posted this version many months ago on their website.

However later Simple Plan decided to use Marie-Mai for the official release (Jet Lag has been already recorded and sung live many times with different female singers – check out more about each version here).

You can listen to the version with Coeur De Pirate below:

Journal de Montreal reveals interesting new info about Simple Plan songs
7th November 2012 // Permalink // 1 Comment

In the latest article on Simple Plan on Journal de Montreal (thanks Charbel for letting me know), the website took a little more in depth look on the history of Simple Plan and also revealed a couple information about the band that were unknown before.

For example the very first song that the guys wrote directly for Simple Plan was also the track that ended up being the first on their debut album – “I’d Do Anything”. Another info from the No Pads era revealed in the article is the fact that “I’m Just A Kid” was written before the band signed a record contract and Chuck and Pierre even recorded a demo for it, knowing that it would be an important song in their career.

Moving forwards to Get Your Heart On! era, another unknown fact is that there is a French version of the song “Jet Lag” that features the singer Coeur De Pirate (real name: Beatrice Martin), who even co-wrote the song. But in the end, the band decided to release the version with Marie-Mai for the French market.

3rd August 2012 // Permalink // 4 Comments

The Wonka contest that’s been going on for the past couple of months has found its winner – Scarlett is the one who wrote the best Wonka-inspired lyrics to the Jet Lag theme and will be given the opportunity to record the song with Simple Plan coaching her in the studio.

Here is the video of the guys from Simple Plan announcing the winner and reading the lyrics:

Listen to the Canadian version of “Jet Lag” (feat. Marie-Mai)
25th July 2012 // Permalink // No Comments

It has only yesterday come to my attention that for many months now, the radios in Canada have been playing a slightly different French version of Simple Plan’s song “Jet Lag” (feat. Marie-Mai) that we were used to (check the official music video). As mentioned in the post yesterday, the song is different only in a couple of lyrics, but still, if you don’t live in Canada and have not come across this version of the song yet, you can check it out below:

A Canadian version of “Jet Lag” feat. Marie-Mai to be released
24th July 2012 // Permalink // 1 Comment

Trying to figure out the number of times Jet Lag has been released is making me crazy… but let’s try to sum it up: so far Simple Plan’s first single from their last record – “Jet Lag” – has been released in its English, French and Chinese versions, then an English version featuring Indonesian band Kotak, and then countless of times we’ve witnessed Simple Plan perform this song with various female (and even male) singers. Simple Plan have really made a pretty smart move to keep the attention of (not only) their fanbase by keeping the track on the radio thanks to the many different versions that exist. And they most certainly are not done yet!

As Sab has informed me, the CKOI radio in Canada played another version of Jet Lag today – which is to be known as the Canadian version of this song. The song is still in French, Marie-Mai is still the guest vocalist, but the lyrics are slightly different from the version we are used to.

The changes can be found in two parts of the song. Where Pierre usually sings “Trying to figure out the time zones is making me crazy”, the lyrics now go “A l’autre bout du monde promets-moi de ne jamais m’oublier” (translation: At the other side of the world, promise me to never forget me) and when Marie-Mai usually sings “Turn the hour hand back to when you were holding me”, in the Canadian version, she sings: “Chaque seconde sans toi devient une éternité” (translation: Every second without you feels like forever).

Update:

According to Charbel though, this version isn’t actually “new” as the radio’s been playing it for about a year now. Nevertheless, it deserved it’s own post. :)
