Simple Plan celebrated New Year’s with a concert at Niagara Falls

To ring in the arrival of the new year, Simple Plan couldn’t have chosen a better way to spend the last minutes of 2017: at the beautifully haunting Niagara Falls, in their homeland Canada, surrounded by their friends and other Canadian acts (such as Marianas Trench) and performing for tens of thousands of people. The only thing that was a bit of a downer was the extreme cold, which reached almost up to -20°C. But even despite that, the boys bravely hit the stage last night to warm up the crowd with the last Simple Plan show of 2017.

If you’ve been following SimplePlan.cz, you were aware that you would able to watch the show live on YouTube. However, it turned out that CBC aired only one song from Simple Plan’s whole set – that being the first song, ‘I’d Do Anything’. In reality, Simple Plan performed a much longer set that also included songs like ‘Jump’, ‘Summer Paradise’, ‘I’m Just A Kid’, ‘Addicted’ or ‘Perfect’.

Check out the livestream’s recording of SP’s ‘I’d Do Anything’ live at Niagara Falls last night below. It starts around mark 42:53:

Some of the other songs were captured on Simple Plan’s Instagram Stories, which you can check out below alongside the final story, in which the members of the band got to celebrate the 2018 on stage at midnight besides everyone else:

And finally, if you also wanna look at some of the photographs documenting the last SP appearance in 2017, check out these two albums in our gallery! The first one will show you pictures from behind the scenes of last night’s events and in the second one you’ll find pictures directly from the Simple Plan show at Niagara Falls:

Last No Pads show of 2017: Simple Plan played at Niagara Falls, NY

Last night, Simple Plan ended their 15th anniversary No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls tour this year with at the final stop of the tour at the Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, NY.

As the band explained in their recent nostalgic post on Instagram regarding this year’s No Pads tour, this won’t be the last time fans will get to see the No Pads show in action as Simple Plan will be expanding the tour into some more countries early next year. In the meantime, SP still have two concerts left this year: the appearance at the 24h Tremblant ski event today and they will also ring in the new year at the New Year’s celebrations back at Niagara Falls – this time however on the Canadian side.

Have a look at the first photos from the final No Pads show of 2017 in Niagara Falls in our gallery:

Simple Plan and Marianas Trench to ring in the New Year with a concert at Niagara Falls!

When we thought the announcements of the shows for 2017 might just be over already, here comes another one! Last night, the Niagara Falls Review announced this year’s lineup for the traditional New Year’s celebrations at Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls, ON and what an all-Canadian lineup it truly is!

Simple Plan, Marianas Trench, Jess Moskaluke and The James Barker Band will all take the stage on December 31st, entertaining the crowds with concerts and of course, midnight celebrations.

If you’re in the area, trust that the event is completely free to enter for everyone. And what more – after two years, a portion of the Niagara Falls New Year’s Eve show will be broadcast live on CBC – details coming up soon – so if you can’t make it, surely you will be able to catch a glimpse of the show on TV throughout the night!

Remind yourselves of the last time Simple Plan played at Niagara Falls for New Year’s – back in 2011, when the band performed a great rendition of Auld Lang Syne at midnight and managed to bring in a crowd of over 65 000 people:

Simple Plan to appear on an Australian morning TV show in Niagara Falls next week

That headline must have been very confusing, so let me elaborate! Thanks to Corey we found out that the Australian morning TV show Sunrise is about to embark on a journey around the world. Its team will visit 5 countries all over the world (Dubai, United Arab Emirates – London, UK – New York, USA – Niagara Falls, Canada – Cancun, Mexico) in the course of five days.

And what’s even more interesting (from our point of view at least), the Sunrise team will be joined by some of the biggest stars of the music and film industry in these countries – including Ed Sheeran, Hugh Jackman, Seal, Phil Collins, Adam Lambert and Simple Plan. Our boys from Simple Plan should be featured in the Niagara Falls special, which, by the looks of the Sunrise‘s tour scheduling could air on Thursday [however that it yet unconfirmed, will let you know when more details pop up].

Check out the video announcement below (Simple Plan appear first at mark 1:24):
