Simple Plan tease two new tour announcements today and next week!

Finally things are starting to get moving around Simple Plan and fans can get excited about what’s to come! The band has hinted yesterday that they will in fact not be coming with just one announcement of new Simple Plan tourdates but with two! According to their Instagram post, fans can expect new tourdates to be announced today, March 23rd and a second batch of new tourdates is coming on Monday, March 26th.

“Get ready for more touring! We’ll be announcing new shows [today] and on monday! Can’t wait to share with you!

And what exactly can we expect those dates to be? We already know that Simple Plan will be heading to Brazil this coming May – but the exact tourdates have not been confirmed yet. Therefore chances are Brazil will be amongst the two upcoming announcements. The band has also previously mentioned that the touring plans in 2018 should not only include Brazil but South America in general – that’s why we’re also expecting other countries to be on the list of announced tourdates – either later today or on Monday.

Interestingly enough, Vivo Ex El Rock, the Peruvian festival that has for the longest time been rumored as one of Simple Plan’s stops in South America, will be making its lineup announcement this Sunday, March 25th. Could that all be tied up to Simple Plan’s two tour announcements in the upcoming days? We shall see!

Real Friends cancel their appearance as an opening act on Simple Plan’s Australian tour

Earlier this morning, Real Friends’ lead singer Dan Lambton announced on Facebook that due to his band’s and psychiatrist’s recommendation, Real Friends will be cancelling their upcoming tour in Australia and Europe, while Dan takes the time off to deal with his recent diagnosis of bipolar disorder. In Australia, Real Friends were supposed to join Simple Plan in April as their opening act on their tour alongside the band Eat Your Heart Out.

In response to these news, Simple Plan made a statement wishing Dan all the best when dealing with his mental health issues while announcing that instead of Real Friends, Stateside will be joining them on the Australian tour. Read their full statement below:

“We are very saddened to hear that Dan, the lead singer from Real Friends, is struggling with mental health issues and that him and the band won’t be able to perform with us on our upcoming Australian #NPNHJBtour. We wish him and his band mates all the best and hope they will overcome this challenge and be back on stage performing soon.

We are thrilled to announce that Stateside has agreed to join the tour and will be playing with us and Eat Your Heart Out on all our upcoming Australian dates.

We can’t wait for these shows and hope to see all our Australian fans at the shows!”

Simple Plan to release Australian and New Zealand No Pads dates very soon!

With the members of Simple Plan currently being on holiday or spending a well-deserved time off at home with their families, one could think that not much is happening in the world of Simple Plan. However, many plans are being made on Simple Plan’s behalf and we are getting first hints about some tour news being revealed in the very near future!

In their latest message on Instagram, Simple Plan teased their fans with a message saying:

“Got some exciting news coming very SOON! 🇦🇺🇳🇿 #npnhjbtour”

As you may notice from the little flags inserted into the Instagram post, Simple Plan aimed this message not only at their Australian fans, but also at their fans from New Zealand, where they haven’t performed in quite a while – since 2005! We’re sure local fans will be ecstatic over this news.

UPDATE: Rumor has it that this announcement might be tied to the upcoming tour announcement by the Australian promoters Destroy All Lines, who are promising an announcement tomorrow at 7am (Melbourne time) for a tour which should feature a pop punk headliner (Simple Plan?), an international pop punk support and another local pop punk support act. The announcement should come in just a few hours.

Besides Australia, we are also currently waiting for tour announcements for South America (also for a No Pads tour there), which should also take place also somewhere around March.

Last night, Simple Plan ended their 15th anniversary No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls tour this year with at the final stop of the tour at the Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, NY.

Simple Plan reminisce about 2017’s No Pads tour & promise to start working on new album in 2018

With only one show (tonight in Niagara Falls, NY) of the No Pads tour left this year, the year Simple Plan’s first album officially celebrated its 15th anniversary, the band reminisced a bit on their Instagram today about this quite eventful year and mostly about what this tour has meant for them, as well for the fans.

In the message, Simple Plan confirmed that they will be expanding the No Pads tour in 2018 with some additional dates in some countries they didn’t manage to visit on this tour yet (as of right now we know of South America and Australia) and we can expect the new tourdates in just a few weeks. Tonight in Niagara Falls will be the last No Pads show of 2017 in the US. It’s been an incredible adventure for us and we’re so grateful for everyone who came to see us play all year. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

We wanted to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the album that changed our lives by playing these special shows and we were hoping that some of you would want to join us and come sing along. We never expected it would turn into a whole year of shows all over the world, 3 tours in the US and such an outpouring of love and support for the music we created so long ago. It has been an incredibly rewarding and beautiful year, playing some absolutely magical shows and meeting so many passionate fans. You have made us realize all over again just how lucky we are to be able to do what we love the most in life. It really touched our hearts and impacted all of us to see the level of dedication, love and loyalty our fans have for this band. We heard so many stories about how our music has helped you deal with the tough moments in life, saw hundreds of SP lyric and logo tattoos and realized just how many friendships and relationships still exist today because of the band we started in our parents’ basement back in Montreal…

It has been one of the greatest experiences of our career so far. Once again, thank you all so much for everything.

P.S.: There’s still a few places we haven’t visited on this tour and we know you’ve been waiting for us…In the next few weeks, we will be announcing the final legs of the No Pads tour. Can’t wait to see you at the shows in 2018 and to start working on a new album!
