Year 2022 in the eyes of SimplePlan.cz

Back in 2009 we started this tradition on SimplePlan.cz to recap the entire past year and remind ourselves of all the good and bad that has happened over the course of it. And here we are, 13 years later, still recapping year after year: this time around the year of 2022, which was quite significant for Simple Plan: they released their first album as an independent band as well as the first album as a four-piece group, who finally managed to properly tour outside North America ever since the pandemic. How they did during the entire year? Let’s see!

You can check out all the past reviews from 2009 later on over here – 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021but right now, let’s go ahead, take a deep breath and have a look at everything that happened in 2022!

Here’s the recap of 2022:

At the end of 2021, right after our last review was posted, Simple Plan still managed to do a one major thing: release the first official music video from their (then) upcoming album – ‘The Antidote’ and this way kicking off the new year with a brand new single and a hit. In January, the ghost of the pandemic has striked again and reminded up that it is still not fully over – Simple Plan’s first post-covid Canadian tour with The Offspring, which was supposed to take place in the beginning of the year unfortunately had to be canceled (but wait, it gets better from then!).

The promo mechanism of the new Simple Plan album started picking up speed in February, when a new collaboration for the album has been announced – Simple Plan and Sum 41 finally decided to bury the hatchet of past childish disagreements and for the first time worked together on a new song. The music video for ‘Ruin My Life’ feat. Deryck Whibley was released on February 18th and the bands also revealed the plans of upcoming tours in the U.S. and Europe together (with Simple Plan as the special guest) for a good half of the year.

In March, Simple Plan started giving us first hints about the upcoming album – the fans finally got to learn its title – ‘Harder Than It Looks’, its release date, the album’s artwork and also further down the road the tracklist. On March 16th the band also surprised us with another new song from the album – ‘Congratulations’.

The band finally set off on tour in April, when they visited Mexico. Simple Plan also released a new music video this month for ‘Wake Me Up When This Nightmare’s Over’, the concept of which was to shine a light on the terrible situation in Ukraine and actually used all Ukrainian cast & crew to make the final video. All proceeds from the viewings of the video on YouTube were donated to UNICEF to help children affected by this war.

The end of April but mostly the month of May signified the first part of the Sum 41 and Simple Plan ‘Blame Canada’ tour across the United States, where the U.S. fans first got to hear some of the new songs and also see Chuck crowdsurf in his own ‘post-pandemic way’. Unfortunately this tour didn’t go exactly according to plan as some members of the Sum 41 camp caught covid right before Simple Plan were supposed to celebrate the release of their new album at a show in New York City, however that show and a few others had to be postponed and Simple Plan’s album ‘Harder Than It Looks’ came out on May 6th without the originally planned celebrations.

In June, Simple Plan returned to Disney World for their annual concert gigs, which have been postponed multiple times because of covid in the previous two years. Finally, the guys got to take their children with them to Florida again to enjoy their dads’ music as well as the fun activities the park offers. Over the summer, the band returned to Canada for a few festivals and then hopped back on the second part of the Blame Canada tour with Sum 41 in the U.S. finishing it up at the end of August.

One of Simple Plan’s biggest hit to date, Summer Paradise got certified silver in the United Kingdom in September and this only welcomed the band to Europe even better for their first post-pandemic European tour, which kicked off at the end of the month – once again joining Sum 41 as a guest, but this time with a new title of the tour – ‘Does This Look All Killer No Filler’. During this tour Simple Plan also made a stop in the Czech Republic, where SimplePlan.cz had the honor to interview Chuck again (you can watch the interview here).

And finally at the end of October, the long-planned Simple Plan and The Offspring tour finally brought these two bands back to Canada, where they stayed throughout all of November. During that month, Simple Plan also released a new version of ‘I’m Just A Kid’ feat. the singer LOLO as well as an accompanying video for it. The band then finally got to have some well-deserved rest in December, when they headed off back home to spend some time with their families and loved ones.

And what can we expect from 2023?

As of right now it seems that next year will finally be the year when Simple Plan will get to go out back on tour on their own, finally delivering the ‘Harder Than It Looks’ tour to their fans as a headlining act.

Firstly, the band is set out to go to South East Asia in March for the ‘Harder Than It Looks’ tour that has only recently been announced. In June, Simple Plan will head back to Europe for the festival season, which so far includes destinations such as the UK, France, Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic with a one-off own show in Switzerland. But that won’t be all for SP when it comes to festivals. Canadian fans can also already look forward to them play in their country at a number of festivals in July. And finally, the only date we know about in the second half of 2023 is the already sold-out While We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, where Simple Plan will get to perform in October.

Besides that there are many indications that Simple Plan might also be planning some more tours during the year – most probably in South America and Australia, where they haven’t toured yet on this tour cycle. However given that the HTIL tour only seems to be starting now, all places which SP have toured in 2022 could also be contenders for their own HTIL tour in the future. We shall see what the year brings.

As always, we’ll keep you updated!

Have a wonderful end of 2022 and we’ll see you in 2023!

Year 2020 in the eyes of SimplePlan.cz

For the past 12 years, ever since SimplePlan.cz started, we’ve been putting out recaps of the past year every December to summarize everything important or interesting that has happened over the course of the year in the world of Simple Plan news. Obviously, even despite the whirlwind of 2020, it was important for us to continue with this tradition and in the course of writing the recap, we reminded ourselves of all the interesting and positive things that did happen in 2020… even if the negative ones might have overshadowed them.

You can check out all the past reviews from 2009 later on over here – 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019but right now, let’s go ahead, take a deep breath and have a look at everything that happened in 2020!

Here’s the recap of 2020:

Believe it or not, 2020 started off pretty great! In January, the boys headed back to the recording studio to finish 4 more songs for their upcoming 6th album and it was also announced that the album would be co-produced by three people: Pierre Bouvier, Brian Howes and JVP. At that point, it was planned that the album would come out probably in the middle or the second half of the year.

The boys hurried up in the studio, because they had to have everything done by February, when they headed off to the United Kingdom, which ended up to be their only touring endeavour this year. Simple Plan joined the headliners Bowling For Soup on their tour, which was eventually all sold out. While in the UK, Simple Plan announced another exciting tour: a co-headlining tour with New Found Glory across the United States, initially planned for May/June 2020. Some of the shows got sold out almost immediately and more had to be added – that’s how excited the American fans were about this particular tour.

But as luck would have it… we all know what happened next. In March, COVID-19 spread all across the world, quickly turning into a worldwide pandemic and changing the lives of every single one of us, one way or another. All future appearances and tours slowly got canceled, as it became more and more clear that we will not be going back to our normal lives as quickly, as we initially hoped. But let’s add at least one positive thing about March – Silverstein’s new album (‘A Beautiful Place To Drown’) was released on March 8th and Pierre Bouvier’s voice was featured on a pretty cool song called ‘Take What You Give’.

In April, just like all of us, the band continued staying at home and some of the band members started finding new things to do to kill the time – the most active of all being Pierre. Pierre first appeared in Neck Deep’s new music video called ‘When You Know’, which was done in a very quarantining and social distancing way and later on in the month he also first joined the platform Cameo, where anyone can hire personalities to send them a personalized greeting. To keep their fans’ spirits up, Simple Plan decided to release the fully filmed show from the No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls 15th anniversary tour called ‘Live in Anaheim’ online for free on their YouTube channel for all fans to watch and enjoy.

Around mid-April, something amazing happened: Simple Plan’s old hit ‘I’m Just A Kid’ suddenly blew up on TikTok, as people started using the song in the new #ImJustAKidchallenge, in which (out of quarantine boredom) they decided to recreate old family photos in the 2020 setting. The song became so huge, it also affected its streams on Spotify and YouTube going up, eventually turning it Platinum in the U.S. in May. Simple Plan decided to then join TikTok as well, and from the safety of the Canadian and U.S. homes and latest technologies – they managed to create a bunch of I’m Just A Kid TikToks as well – some of them even with all members ‘together’.

Besides dealing with the sudden TikTok fame, Pierre also mentioned that SP were almost ready to release some new material soon (which didn’t happen, likely because of what came next in July) and it was also announced that Simple Plan were finished with their 6th album – with its release however being pending due to the on-going pandemic.

So far, the first half of 2020 was pretty eventful, considering the situation. That has however drastically changed in July, when certain sexual misconduct allegations against David Desrosiers came into the light and on July 10th, just a day after the allegations were posted online, David himself announced that he is withdrawing from the band, apologizing for the “harm he has caused to women” and promising to seek help. With this shocking statement to many, the remaining members of the band decided to take some time off to “pause, reflect and put in place guidelines to prevent similar situations from happening”. And that was the last we heard of them all the way until October.

Finally in October, Simple Plan returned online after a 3-month hiatus, keeping their word and announcing a set of changes and guidelines that will be put in place from now on for every show and every performance in order to prevent any wrong-doing and to promote inclusivity and safety at their shows. From this statement and many others that followed from October until now, the message from Simple Plan has been clear and consistent – David is no longer part of the band and the band is now trying to move on as a foursome: with Pierre, Chuck, Jeff and Sebastien. With the band being back, fans have also cheered the return of Sebastien’s (and Patrick’s) podcast Man Of The Hour for another season after a pause, also caused by the band’s hiatus from any online setting. And best news at the end: the band has confirmed that the final mixes of the new album have now also been finished.

And what can we expect from 2021?

It is clear that today, there’s much more uncertainty about the future than ever before. But still – since the vaccine against COVID-19 is already being administered to thousands of people all over the world and millions in the upcoming months, we are slowly moving towards a safer future.

And in time, there will hopefully come a moment, when we will all gather at a show without having to wear a mask or social distance again. We are hoping that the return of live music could happen at least in the second half of 2021 but the question is: what will touring look like after the pandemic? Will meet&greets still be a thing? Will negative tests or proofs of vaccination be necessary to enter a concert venue? Those questions will surely have to be answered eventually.

But as far as Simple Plan concerns, the band has had the past 6 months to deal with the departure of their bassist. We can imagine, of course, that such a big change must come with tons of other issues – whether personal, financial or legal. The question of David’s participation on the 6th album still remains uncertain, as he did record his parts, so it is likely he will be credited on the record (unless they decided to rerecord his parts, which is unlikely). More than likely however, the band will just go on without him as a four piece and promote the album that way. Whether the band will eventually acquire a new bassist or hire just a touring musician to help out with the bass parts at live shows is still unknown.

Overall, the main goal for 2021 for Simple Plan should be the final release of their 6th album, which fans have been waiting for for incredible 5 years… A lot has changed since then – but given the recent huge success of other artists in Simple Plan’s niche – namely All Time Low or Yungblund – we believe there is still place for Simple Plan in today’s music scene.

Let’s see what 2021 brings..

Year 2019 in the eyes of SimplePlan.cz

If there’s one thing you can rely on, it’s that every December towards its end, SimplePlan.cz will come up with another recap of the year, and obviously, 2019 is not an exception. Just like for the past 11 years, in this year’s recap we would like to summarize everything important or interesting that has happened over the course of the year in the world of Simple Plan news.

And while you can certainly check out the whole past decade of SP news in our previous recaps [Check them out over here: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018], let’s go ahead and have a look at everything that happened in 2019!

Here’s the recap of 2019:

January started on a high note when David Desrosiers reappeared on social media after quite a long break, wishing all Simple Plan fans a happy new year and also giving them a bit of hope in his eventual return by saying he’s looking forward to the new SP album. In fact, all of January was then revolving around the upcoming 6th Simple Plan record with Pierre and Chuck hard at work writing new songs (often with Travis Clark from We The Kings) and even asking for the fans’ input. On the contrary in February, Pierre and Chuck decided to explore also some other interesting music ventures and while Chuck appeared as a guest DJ at Emo Nite, Pierre went on to create music for others – he was featured on DJ Domeno’s song ‘Alleys’ and also helped break a couple of world records at the videoshoot for YouTuber Elton Castee, in who’s song ‘The Fun In Life’ he was also featured on.

In the beginning of March, Jeff set off to South Africa with his girlfriend and two daughters, where the family filmed a documentary about sustainable tourism and learn a lot about the African culture in the days they spent there. Just like the previous years, this year Simple Plan also didn’t say no to yet another appearance at Walt Disney World in Florida, where they appeared mid-March for a couple of days, playing 3 sets a day. Many fans there were surprised to hear a live version of ‘Vacation’, a very rare song for SP to perform live. Shortly after their time at Disney, Chuck returned to Canada, where he had the honor to be one of the panelists of the Canada Reads contest, defending a book called ‘Homes’ by Abu Bakr Al-Rabeeah and Winnie Yeung, a true refugee story told by a teenager. Chuck did very well defending the book and eventually placed second in the competition.

Even though the guys still continued working on new songs in May, it was slowly time to wrap things up and head over to the United Kingdom for a couple of first big performances of the year – Simple Plan made their first appearance at Slam Dunk Festival in Leeds and Hatfield. The most exciting thing about the beginning of summer though (and perhaps of all of 2019), was David Desrosiers’ return to the band after 3 years of absence due to fighting depression and looking after his mental health. David returned to the band at the first of three stops of the 25th anniversary Warped Tour shows.

In July, Simple Plan had the honor to open for Blink-182 in Toronto, Canada and also finished off the final third 25th anniversary Warped Tour show that month. After that it was time to get back on track and focus on the new album again. And so they did and at the end of July, all five members of Simple Plan entered the recording studio in California in order to start recording their upcoming 6th album, where they stayed pretty much until September. In the meantime, SimplePlan.cz celebrated 12 years online in August.

In September, it was revealed by Pierre that Simple Plan’s record deal with Atlantic Records is officially done and they are “free agents” now. After spending some more time in the studio in September, the guys released first new music in years in the form of a song called ‘Where I Belong’, which also features the members of State Champs and We The Kings. The song was released just ahead of the co-headlining U.S. tour of Simple Plan and State Champs, where We The Kings were brought in as the support act. The tour kicked off at the end of October and continued throughout most of November.

During the tour with State Champs, Simple Plan also filmed the music video for ‘Where I Belong’, where they could not NOT feature the members of the other bands as well. The video was finally released just in time for Christmas. After the end of the State Champs tour, the guys took a few days off before heading out on another short tour – this time to Australia, where they were invited to play at the Good Things Festival and while at it, also performed at a number of additional sideshows as well. While down under, Pierre also took the opportunity to attend the Simple Creatures’ DJ set in Melbourne, where he ended up joining Alex Gaskarth and Mark Hoppus in singing ‘I’d Do Anything’ live on stage – it being the very first time Mark Hoppus was involved in a live version of this track, which he was originally featured on.

And what can we expect from 2020?

Obviously the biggest thing about 2020 in the world of Simple Plan will be their new album. In January, the boys are planning to record the final 4 songs for the album and according to Pierre, they have to be done with it by the time they head out on the Bowling For Soup tour in the UK, which starts in the beginning of February.

After that, of course, while the album is going through post-production, the boys should be preparing all the stuff for its release, including the photoshoot for the album cover and most importantly: coming up with the title for the record. According to Chuck, the release date is planned for either spring or summer of 2020 and we are obviously expecting to hear some new music before that. With that also comes the question of whether Simple Plan will sign a new record contract or whether they will remain an unsigned band for the next album. Hopefully the near future should answer this question for us.

Besides the album, there’s lots of new tours coming up in 2020 and we’re absolutely stoked to see who Simple Plan will bring with them. According to their recent live webchat on Instagram, the guys would like to bring the ‘Where I Belong’ tour to more countries, which could mean that we might see Simple Plan touring with State Champs and We The Kings again in the future. But also, the guys would also like to bring more known acts with them on tour because they feel like it’s what the fans want.

Overall, next year is gonna be a blast and we can’t wait to bring you all the details on the next record and more!

Year 2018 in the eyes of SimplePlan.cz

For 10 years in a row now, SimplePlan.cz has had one steady feature: the annual recaps of the year, in which we like to summarize everything important that has happened over the course of the year in the world of Simple Plan news. And this year will be no different! While you can certainly check out the whole past decade of SP news in our previous recaps [Check them out over here: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017], let’s go ahead and have a look at everything that happened in 2018!

Here’s the recap of 2018:

Simple Plan ringed in the new year with massive New Year’s celebrations and a performance at Niagara Falls after which they decided to lay low for a little bit to gain some strength after 2017, which was filled with touring. In March, the band then repeated their appearance at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, FL, where they performed for 3 consecutive days with 3 sets each day. To honor the previous year’s 15th anniversary of their debut album ‘No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls’, Simple Plan released a special anniversary tour edition of this album in April, which also featured a number of tracks recorded live on their anniversary No Pads tour. The timing of the re-release was set to coincide with Simple Plan’s final No Pads tours, which led them to Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and Australia in April and May of 2018. And what a tour it was: some shows sold-out almost immediately, there were some marriage proposals that took place during the SP shows and some fans even got to hear ‘Vacation’ live!

In June, Simple Plan’s previous band Reset reunited once again in their original formation featuring Pierre and Chuck from Simple Plan at the Montebello Rockfest and performed some of their classic hits from No Limits and No Worries. The highlight of the summer of 2018 was however the final edition of Warped Tour (as we know it), where Simple Plan were asked to return for the very last time. Given that Simple Plan performed on the tour 12 times in total, they have become the second most frequent band to grace Warped Tour with their presence.

Warped Tour was extremely good to Simple Plan: not just massive crowds and fantastic atmosphere but also some amazing friendships were formed on this tour between SP and other bands. Over the course of the summer, Simple Plan even offered some of their old and new friends to join them on stage and sing on ‘Grow Up’ with them while Chuck was surfing in the crowd and Pierre was drumming in his place. The addition of We The Kings, Waterparks, Bowling For Soup, Tonight Alive, Yungblud, Don Broco, Cassadee Pope, Story Untold, Set It Off, State Champs or 3OH!3 on their stage made the Simple Plan sets some of the most memorable on the whole tour. To repay this favor to some of their band friends, members of Simple Plan also appeared on other band’s stages – most notably with State Champs, Bowling For Soup or 3OH!3. Thanks to Peter John, the Australian filmmaker who joined SP’s crew on Warped Tour this year, we also got to see a little bit behind the scenes of this punk rock festival with his daily vlogs.

After the end of Warped Tour, Simple Plan officially ended their TOFTT tour cycle at the International Balloon festival in Canada in August. Besides this, August was also filled with some other news: SimplePlan.cz celebrated its 11th anniversary, Chuck performed at another charitable ice-hockey match and The Bottom Line released a new music video for their song ‘Reasons’ featuring footage of members of Simple Plan. And that was not the only surprising cameo news we’ve heard of by the end of summer! In September, the fans were surprised to find out that Simple Plan were going to be featured in yet another movie – the band flew to Minnesota to film their cameo in Summertime Dropouts, which should be coming out next year.

After September, the band members all went back home to rest for a bit but also to slowly start working on some new ideas for Simple Plan’s next record. And while they were busy doing their thing, the Summer Paradise music video (feat. Sean Paul) hit a huge milestone: 100 million views on YouTube, making it the most watched SP music video on this video streaming website. In November, Simple Plan then did a one-off special concert performance at the Slippery Rock University and later on their new song ‘Bigger’, featured on the Racetime animated movie soundtrack, was released and MXPX also released a new Christmas song called ‘December’, which featured Pierre Bouvier.

The most welcome news then came at the beginning of December when Pierre and Chuck were revealed to be already very busy working on Simple Plan’s 6th album and songwriting with various people from the music business. First, we found out that the duo was writing with the former Neck Deep member Fil Thorpe-Evans and a few days later it was revealed that Chuck and Pierre spent several days writing songs with Travis Clark from We The Kings.

And what can we expect from 2019?

First of all, while we don’t know many specifics about 2019, there’s already a few things that a certain: Simple Plan will be back on tour at least in some way next year. They are already scheduled to appear at the Garden Rocks festival series at Walt Disney World in Orlando in March and they were also recently confirmed to be appearing in the United Kingdom at the Slam Dunk festival in Leeds and Hatfield in May.

However the biggest topic of 2019 for Simple Plan should certainly be new music. Now, note that I purposely didn’t choose to use the word “album” as the band members themselves have stated that they are thinking of possibly changing things around and perhaps releasing a few tracks first and then when they have enough songs to make a great album they might release that as a whole. That could mean that there might be some new Simple Plan music in 2019, but the question is whether there will be a full 6th record done by the end of the year or not. There’s no need to be worried about this new possible way of releasing music – this could mean that SP might embark on tour to see you even before they release a whole new album, while at the same time having new music for you to rock out to at their shows. It would be a win-win!

As far as the music concerns, Simple Plan have said in a number of interviews that they would like to keep it in the pop punk direction, and perhaps modernize the sound of No Pads on the next album. These statements should however be taken with discretion as nothing is set in stone as of yet as the band is still in the song-writing stage.

One thing about the new album is clear though: Simple Plan confirmed earlier this year that David Desrosiers, who’s been absent from tour since 2016 due to his personal battles with depression, will definitely be involved in the making of their next record. That is surely a relief to many fans who were very eager to hear news regarding David and his further involvement with the matters relating to this band.

TOFTT tour cycle is done and so it the No Pads anniversary one and here at SimplePlan.cz we cant wait to take you on another journey of the process of making a new Simple Plan record. As always, we’re stoked to be here to reveal new information about new SP music step by step in the coming months and get you more and more excited for what’s to come in the world of Simple Plan. We hope you’ll join us on this journey.

Stay tuned for more news!

Recap of the Simple Plan documentary Vie de tournée

Thanks to Emilie, SimplePlan.cz prepared a short recap of the long-awaited and recently released documentary Vie de tournée, who’s new episode focuses on Simple Plan, their Brazilian tour and includes extensive interviews with all band members.

Instead of a complete full translation (since the video is 45 minutes long), we opted for a recap, which will give you an insight into some of the interesting bits that were discussed in this TV special:

Fatherhood & being in a relationship

It’s always tough to leave their kids at home and go on tour. For Chuck, the band has always been his priority but now that he has a kid, his priorities have slightly changed.

– The tour life can be very hard especially for those, who are in serious relationships. A few years ago, Jeff went through a difficult separation from the mother of his two daughters (Zoe and Maya). She was there since the beginning of Simple Plan. It felt like a big failure to him. Jeff struggled with this change in his life quite a lot. It always took him several days to adapt to being at home alone after the tour, but he has learnt a lot and the guys helped him.

– The guys adapted their tours to their fatherhood and David had to follow the lead. He feels like he lives a completely different live than them, because he’s single. But even though he has no children of his own, he loves kids and says the guys have beautiful children.

Touring without David

– The tour in South America this documentary revolves around (December 2016) was the first tour without David. He said that his body was letting him know it was very tired, so he listened to the signs. He needed to step back. For him touring includes way too much movement and it doesn’t allow him to feel grounded at the same place long enough. So he tries to slow down as much as possible. During the guys’ tour in Brazil, he went to his mother’s home in Matane to recharge himself.

– The other guys were initially afraid of not having David on tour, but they quickly changed their attitude on how to solve this problem. Logistically, it’s very complicated to do a tour in Brazil, so they really didn’t want to cancel it – plus, they really wanted to go. According to the guys, it’s always very special to be in Brazil, there is a big buzz around the band, big excitement that they find in other countries too, but here’s it’s accentuated, crazier and more chaotic.

– The guys had a meeting on how it will work without David. They explained that David had pre-recorded the bass tracks except for the first album, so Seb was going to play bass and Chady guitar on some songs.

– David focused on the positives messages that he’s received. Someone even sent him a video of Pierre on stage, where he said: “Sing louder, so that David can hear you!” It touched him very much.

Tour life’s tolls on life

– Sometimes it’s hard to find a balance on tour. For Pierre, it’s to accept that there is no balance. When he doesn’t want to get up to catch a flight but he has no choice, he takes a deep breath. The guys take it one day at a time, one show at a time, even one hour at a time.

– This tour was the Pierre’s first return on stage after their previous Canadian tour being canceled due to Pierre’s vocal chords problems. He spent 2 weeks without saying a word, the third week he spoke a little and the fourth week he began to practice and warm his voice. The guys supported him – they only canceled shows 3-4 times in 15 years.

– Sometimes there are some tensions between the members of the band, especially between Pierre and Chuck. One example being having to often wait for Pierre to do the encore. Chuck wants everything for the shows to be by the book.

A little too devoted Brazilian fans

– In Brazil and other countries in Latin America, it often happens that the fans stay at the same hotel as SP. It’s more accepted to be a fanatic there. But when is it just too much? According to SP, it depends – sometimes they can handle a lot, they have the energy to do it, but sometimes they know just after waking up that is not a good day.

– Seb discussed the obsession of some fans to have pictures with them everytime, even if they meet them multiple times in one day: “We see some fans at the airport, take a picture with them, it’s cool. Then we go to the hotel, the same fans are there, we take a picture, cool. Then the soundcheck party, take another picture, the stage is behind, it’s different. Then the VIP party, we can talk some more there, it’s fantastic. But then they arrive to our hotel, it’s late, we want to go to bed because we have to get up early the next day, and the same fans are there – so maybe that picture is a little too much…”
