Simple Plan release new song “I Don’t Wanna Be Sad”

After “Saturday” and “Boom”, Simple Plan decided to release another song from their upcoming 5th album for free – this time a song called “I Don’t Wanna Be Sad” (which we’ve previously known only as “Sad”).

The song is very up-tempo fun and catchy and I’m sure you’re gonna all love it. Check it out:

Plus, you can also listen to it on Spotify or buy it on iTunes.

Let me know what you think of the new song in the comments below!

Lyrics to the song can be found here:

I Don’t Wanna Be Sad

No, I don’t wanna be sad
I don’t wanna be sad, sad, sad no more

It’s been 28 days since I’ve seen the sunshine
Cause I just can’t seem to lift this cloud away
I swear all the tears I’ve cried could fill an ocean
I’ve been swimming in a sea of misery

I can’t find the strength to leave this bed
I’m locked up in my cuckoo head
I feel so low and I can’t let go
I’ve got all the symptoms all the signs
I tell my friends I’ll be just fine
But truth be told
It’s getting old

No, I don’t wanna be sad
I don’t wanna be sad sad sad no more
And I know, some days will be bad
But I don’t wanna be sad sad sad no more

I’ve tried every pill the doctor will prescribe me
And I’ve put myself through weeks of therapy
I’ve tried meditation yoga and pilates
It’s like happiness just wasn’t meant for me

But I’m through I’m done I’ve had enough
I’ll ditch this funk I tell you what
Just watch me now
Cause I won’t back down
I’ve got a bad ass personality
So I just need to set it free
It starts today I’m on my way

No, I don’t wanna be sad
I don’t wanna be sad sad sad no more
And I know, some days will be bad
But I don’t wanna be sad sad sad no more

Oh, oh, oh
No no no
I don’t wanna be sad
Oh, oh, oh
No no no
I don’t wanna be sad
Oh, oh, oh
No no no
I don’t wanna be sad, sad, sad, sad, sad, sad

No, I don’t wanna be sad
I don’t wanna be sad sad sad no more
And I know, some days will be bad
But I don’t wanna be sad sad sad no more

No, I don’t wanna be sad
I don’t wanna be sad sad sad no more
And I know, some days will be bad
But I don’t wanna be sad sad sad no more

No no no
I don’t wanna be
No no no
I don’t wanna be
Sad, sad, sad no more

No no no
I don’t wanna be
No no no
I don’t wanna be
Sad, sad, sad no more

Chuck reveals new song-title, secret soundtrack project and more in new interview!

Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan recently gave a very long interview to Joe DeAndrea from AbsolutePunk, which (as it’s common with Chuck’s interviews) was filled with interesting and new information.

And while you can check out the full interview (and I definitely recommend it!) here, below you can find a recap of the most important information that Chuck revealed.

Firstly, a brand new never-mentioned-before song-title of one of the recorded songs has been revealed. The song is called “Sad” and it is the one that Simple Plan used all the trumpets and saxophones on [read more on that here].

In the interview Chuck also discussed the recently mentioned soundtrack project for which the boys recently recorded a certain song. Turns out, the project is a soundtrack to a remake of a popular French-Canadian film called The Dog Who Stopped The War and apart from Simple Plan, artists like Celine Dion or Walk Off The Earth should also be featured in its soundtrack.

Chuck also mentioned that the main mixer of the new Simple Plan album is Neal Avron, who’s previously mixed albums of bands such as Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy or Yellowcard.

And finally, the interview also mentioned Chuck’s and Pierre’s song-writing sessions with 5 Seconds Of Summer. It seems like the two songs the guys wrote together may in fact end up rather on the next 5SOS record than on the Simple Plan one.
