Simple Plan to release ANOTHER video in the next few weeks

While either this or next week we should finally get a look at the new music video for “Opinion Overload”, which is Simple Plan’s second single, according to a new interview with Jeff, that might not be all that the boys have for us video-wise!

In an interview for the Spanish server Histéricas Garbaciones, Jeff was asked about their upcoming important events and besides the European tour, Jeff also said:

“We are releasing two new videos in the next few weeks: one is a “nostalgia/throwback” video with a super energetic live performance. The other video, will be quite a surprise for our fans! ” – Jeff Stinco

As you can guess, it is certain that in the first part of the quote, Jeff talks about the music video for “Opinion Overload”, which is known to feature a live performance of the band along with a sneak peek at various memorabilia. But in the second part, he mentions that there is another video we can look forward to. Is it a music video? Is it something else? We’re gonna have to wait and see what the next few weeks are going to bring. But as Jeff said, it will definitely be a big surprise.

Another big SP surprise coming on Friday!

In his latest Instagram post, Simple Plan’s drummer Chuck Comeau teased that the band is planning another big surprise – to quote him “something big and very cool” – and all that in just a few days – this Friday, December 18th to be exact!

Since he left no more clues as to what this surprise might be, we are once again left to guess. There is a number of possibilities what the band may have in store for us – so let’s have a look at them:

New website

While SimplePlan.com has recently already undergone a TOFTT change, there is still a lot of things missing. Keep in mind that ever since their 3rd album, Simple Plan have always featured some special interactive version of heir website in anticipation of their new album. Remember the SP wheel for the self-titled album? Or the Jet Lag Airlines before GYHO came out? Perhaps with the release of Taking One For The Team we may expect something more sport-y. :) This option seems the most probable as of right now.

Tracklist

I’ve mentioned the revelation of the tracklist the last time we were guessing what SP’s surprise might be. The band didn’t reveal the song-titles and their order on the album in their first big announcement a couple weeks ago, as they were still recording the new songs are were planning on eliminating them to 13 or 14. However a couple weeks have gone past since then and the band may finally be able to share the tracklist with us now. Possibly.

New music video

The band members have previously mentioned that there is a new music video in works and should be released “soon”. Whether it’s for a brand new song or the one for “I Don’t Wanna Be Sad” we haven’t seen yet – we don’t know. But it surely would be a big surprise to see what they came up with.

What are your guesses the Friday surprise could be about?

PHOTOS: Filming a future surprise with Patrick Langlois

Today’s news will probably make the old-school Simple Plan fans very happy. That’s because the members of Simple Plan reunited with Patrick Langlois today for a “future surprise”. However as of right now it is unknown what the nature of this surprise is.

If you’re not aware of who Patrick Langlois is – ever since Simple Plan started, Patrick was the “unofficial 6th member”, as he toured with them everywhere, took care of their merch, their website and also all the photography and videos. All that until 2009 when he decided to leave SP after receiving an offer to become a music journalist for MusiquePlus. Since then, Patrick has become a very well-known TV personality in Montreal and is currently hosting a TV program called Ménage à Trois at the Canadian channel V. Since 2006 Patrick also co-hosts the Man Of The Hour radio show with Sebastien.

Simple Plan’s acceptance speech for the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award

Thanks a lot to our colleagues over at SPB.com for finding a video of Simple Plan’s acceptance speech at the Juno Gala Dinner last night on March 31st, where they were awarded for their on-going charitable work with Simple Plan Foundation.

After the speech the video continues with a short interview with Jeff Stinco, regarding the award and the band’s involvement with the Foundation and also Jeff mentions today’s special Simple Plan’s performance on the Juno Awards ceremony with K’Naanthe guys apparently still have some surprise for the viewers tonight, revealing only that “the summer’s coming [today] with the Summer Paradise perfromance”.
