Simple Plan to return to Canada this fall with The Offspring

The ‘Let The Bad Times Roll Tour’ has already been through a lot (of bad times). You may recall that last year it was announced that Simple Plan would be opening for The Offspring on their cross-Canadian tour in early 2022, however due to another surge of the covid-19 pandemic, this tour has been canceled. However, things are finally starting to look up and the Canadian fans will finally get to see these two bands together on an unforgettable tour later this fall!

The Offspring will be taking Simple Plan as a special guest on a Canadian tour that will kick off on Halloween in Halifax, NS and continue throughout all of November and finishing in Victoria, BC. Overall the tour will be making stops in 18 different cities.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 9th, at 10am EST but if you want to get them early you can use the pre-sale code JUSTAKID and get your tickets already on Thursday, September 8th from 10pm local time.

Canadian Simple Plan tour with The Offspring canceled due to COVID-19 surge

Simple Plan promised to deliver an update soon on the upcoming Canadian tour with The Offspring, which was supposed to kick off in just a few weeks at the end of January – and they did so today. As some fans have already assumed, due to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases due to the rapidly spreading Omicron variant of the coronavirus, the situation wasn’t ideal for a cross-country tour to take place – for health reasons as well as logistical reasons. And therefore in a deeply apologetic statement, Simple Plan just confirmed that both Simple Plan and The Offspring have decided to cancel the entire tour. Ticket holders will be fully refunded automatically.

You can read the full statement from Simple Plan bellow:

“We are really disappointed to announce that the ‘Let The Bad Times Roll’ tour with The Offspring in Canada has to be cancelled due to the current COVID-19 surge. It’s really a bummer to have to do this, but after many discussions with the promoter and The Offspring, we all came to the conclusion that the tour just can’t happen right now, unfortunately.

We’re really sorry that we can’t play for you at the moment and be a part of this amazing tour that we were looking forward to so much. We’re already working on finding new dates when we can come back and we will update you as soon as possible.

Everyone who bought a ticket will be getting their money back and refunds will be processed automatically so keep an eye out for more info from your point of purchase.

Once again, we apologize and can’t wait to see all of you again soon.

Stay healthy and safe.”

The Antidote hype: Simple Plan released 2 new promo videos & addressed David’s stepping away again

In just a couple hours, Simple Plan’s brand new single “The Antidote” will premiere online and in the anticipation of this big event, Simple Plan have been hyping up their fans with a bunch of new content.

First, the band published a video on their Instagram showing the behind the scenes of what looks like could be the promotional photoshoot for the new album, which took place at the end of August, when the guys finally got toegether again after a long time in California. Check it out below:

And of course it’s not just the new song and the album that the guys are hyping up now – it’s also the upcoming tour with The Offspring. And speaking of that, Pierre and Chuck actually got together with Noodles and Dexter from The Offspring and in order for them to be even allowed into Canada, the members of Simple Plan decided to give The Offspring a little bit of schooling – the Canadian way. Check out the funny video below:

And finally, given how many fans still keep asking Simple Plan about David Desrosiers, who left the band mid-2020 after some allegations of sexual misconduct came to light, the band decided to address this on their social media as well once more. See their statement below:

“A lot of you are asking about David. As stated in his most recent Instagram post, David has stepped away from the band as of the summer of 2020 and continues to focus on working on himself. We respect his decision and wish him the best in this ongoing process.
