"Our first fans were amazing. They would come to every single show they could, they were starting websites about us, talking about us to all their friends, it was like they took it to heart to promote our band. They were being little soldiers like "this new band, they're so good. And like when we would come back and play like in Toronto, like one time there and then two months later the show would be like double the size, triple the size because of those people. Most of them now are properly in the Invasion Crew, which is awesome cause it's like, I don't know, they love us and we love them, they talk to everybody about us. I've made so many friends in the last year in the last two years, just going around and playing shows. Just fans who have become my friends, and now we talk to each other all the time and it's crazy.
David:
"I would say the fans properly are the most important reason why we're here today and they have been supportive and helping us since day one, since this was totally the smallest band in the world. I'd just like to say thank you to everybody that's come to the show, that's wearing a Simple Plan shirt, that's spreading the word and giving Simple Plan some love, we really appreciate your love, thank you.
Chuck:
"I think one of the most important things is to always go in the crowd and hang out and thank every single kid who came out and brought a ticket. I mean most of the kids that come to the shows, still have to pay for tickets, they don't get seats for free, and they work very hard at the stupid job that they hate and when they choose to spend ten or fifthteen bucks on a record or on a show it means the world to us. And I think the least we can do is acknowledge it and come and hang out. It's not that hard for us to do that. To me to spend an hour or two after each show and sign and talk and gets to know who like our band, that's properly the favourite part of playing shows. We keep on saying it but it's so true, a lot of people think it's bullshit but from the bottom of our hearts, it's all your fault if we're here today, we can make this DVD, and we can be on tour and travel and see the world and we are the luckiest fucking guys in the world and it means so much to us.
Jeff:
"I just love recognising faces, like I play on stage and I'll see someone who I've known for a long time and I'll acknowledge that person, I'll always be like ?hey what's up', and that makes it worth it for me. Those are friends that I have in every city that I have made though touring and through Simple Plan. So it is definitely a great thing, I could say I've got friends in a lot of different places in the world.
Seb:
"They're loyal, they're the best kids in the world. They're the coolest people cause all they do is care about this band, they wanna help us, they wanna help us make us grow, they support us, they do contests, they, I'll tell you those kids they go all out. We care about those kids who come to drive to see us, we care about the people who have been supporting us for a long time, we care about the new kids who came for the first time to a show, and they're like ?oh I'd like to meet those guys.' and so it's like we always go and sign autographs and it gives us a chance to get us to know those people better and it gives us a chance to make friends.
