Don’t you hate it when you’re a rockstar and it’s so extremely difficult to eat well when you’re touring? Okay.. I guess you don’t know that feeling, but I think Sebastien does and he explained it pretty well during his interview by Roger Mooking. Check out the delicious interview right here:

What is the best bet for food at a truck stop?

This always depends on how hungry you are. If you’re lucky enough to get to a truck stop that has breakfast, have it. They are greasy and heavy, but they taste fine. Stay away from the pre wrapped sandwiches. They might look and smell fine, but they are not.

What do you eat in an airport?

You should always get the country specialty, ie some sushi in Japan, some pasta in Italy.

What is the best jet lag food to recharge?

Whatever comfort food you might have. I like burgers or spaghetti to restart my system.

I prefer to perform on an empty stomach. Do you eat before a show? If so, how long before?

I try to eat at least a couple hours before going on stage. You know what happens if you eat too close to stage time…

What food traditions do you have when you come off stage?

Keep it light! Fruit and nuts and things like that. Of course there’s always pizza in the dressing room, but I’m not a fan of late night greasy food.

Backstage catering can go either way. What makes for good backstage catering and what is the most memorable of your career?

Warm meals and good soup make a big difference. Big fan of the soup. Something interesting that happened on our last Canadian tour, we had fajitas four days in a row. All the venues had the same idea, and of course they don’t check with each other to find out what we had the previous day.

What is your favorite country to travel to for the food?

Japan all the way. Fresh fish galore. Nothing to complain about there with the fish and the green tea. But Italy is a close second. Best pasta in the world.

What was your favorite home cooked meal growing up?

Spaghetti was all I ate as a kid. That and PB and J. I was difficult as a kid.

If you have to, what is your fast food of choice?

Subway or Dagwoods. At least it doesn’t give me a stomach ache.

What is a must on the tour bus?

Bread and peanut butter for the morning. Then it’s all about beer, vodka, and wine. We have to treat our guests right.

Sebastien promised few days ago that he would post a new song of his soon – and here it is! The song is called Tu Me Manques and you can listen to it on Sebastien’s MySpace.

Apart from a new song, Seb also posted a new blog:

Yesterday

Yesterday i was part of an event called Busking For Change, presented by Warchild. Me and a bunch of fantastic Montreal artists started busking around the Montreal Underground and all the money we gathered was going straight to Warchild.

While i was wandering what song to play yesterday, i played a song that you guys had never heard before. So i decided to put it up on mySpace.
This song is all in french and it’s called “Tu Me Manques” and it talks about missing someone while on tour.

On another note, the Olympics were AWESOME! Sorry we had to keep it a secret. If you missed it, here it is!!

Jacob Hoggard from the band Hedley, which also performed at the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver, posted few days ago a picture from the dress rehearsal of this event on his Twitter profile. The reason I’m mentioning this picture is that apart from the Hedley members and K-Os, you can also spot David from Simple Plan on the picture! Check it out:

As you already know, Sebastien from Simple Plan was yesterday a part of the so-called Busking For Change event – during which canadian musicians were busking for change in the subway stations in Montreal, raising money for the War Child organisation.

Apart from Sebastien, also other canadian musicians attended this event – for example the bands October Sky or The New Cities or the signer Jason Bajada. Just like on his mini-tour, Sebastien had a little help of Frenchie with supporting musical instruments.

The money that was raising by this event (and which can still be donated online) will go to the War Child organisation, which helps children affected by war – by the way every year it’s about 200,000 children their and families.

Out of all the musicians that played in the Montreal’s subway stations yesterday, Sebastien managed to attract the most people.

Sebastien said: “It’s for the kids, you know. Two thirds of war casualties are children and when you see that statistic, you don’t have a choice, you have to be generous, you have to make a donation, and you have to get involved somehow and that’s why I’m here, I guess,”

Patrick’s Objectif Coulisses already made a video about Busking For Change, where you can check out how the event looked like and what the musicians said about it. Even thought the video is in French, it’s definitely worth watching!

And finally here is one video right from Sebastien’s performance on Busking For Change with his song Life Goes On:

Although Simple Plan didn’t perform at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010, they DID perform at the closing ceremonies!

Their performace was a huge surprise for all the fans, as most of the stars, who were attending this event were confirmed before – but the guys from Simple Plan kept their surprise to themselves and they announced it only few minutes before they hit the stage with the song “Your Love Is A Lie” in front of an enormous audience in Vancouver, plus being watched by millions all over the world.

Local canadian stars ruled the closing ceremony – apart from Simple Plan also musicians Nickelback, Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morisette and Michael Buble performed.

Also. even though most of the Europe was asleep at that time, Simple Plan managed to get into the “Trending Topics” on Twitter!

You can already check out first 4 pictures from this event in our gallery:

And finally here is the promised performance of Simple Plan with the song Your Love Is A Lie at the clsing ceremonies at this year’s Winter Olympic games in Vancouver:
