Meaning of the song<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n

The Rest Of Us<\/b> has been described as an anthem to the outcasts of the society, who feel like they never belong.<\/p>\n

“It’s an anthem for the normal people<\/b>. Raise your glass for the normal people!”<\/i><\/p>\n

“You see all these glamorous crazy lives in tabloids and you see all these reality shows or these big famous people and you’re like: “That’s not really us!” And I don’t want it to be us. So this song is like an anthem if you can’t always pull it off, like if sometimes you feel like you fall a little short<\/b>, it’s kind of a song about that. And that it happens to everybody – even to the rich and the famous.”<\/i><\/p>\n

“I think that it is a song that speaks to me, that speaks to our fans. It’s a song that is basically about saying: “Hey! Maybe we’re not what the picture perfect image of what success is or what perfection is or what you’re really supposed to be doing or what people expect of you. But that’s okay!” And it’s kind of like a cheers to that. Here’s to the rest of us. We may be different and we can still achieve great things. And I feel like us as a band – even today – it’s clear that we’ve had some success and the band has done well, it’s been a great career for us. But when we first started, we were a bunch of guys that had a dream to be in a band and do something very different. And I think we still have that mentality and we still feel that way. Even though we have tons of fans around the world, we still feel like somewhat we’re outcasts and in some ways we’re different. And that’s what the song is about. It’s about being proud of being different. It’s ok to be different.<\/b> You don’t have to be the mould. And I even think that you should not be the mould cause being something different will sometimes get you to great places and great things. Which is the case for us in Simple Plan.”<\/i><\/p>\n
