Meaning of the song<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n

This song was based on Chuck’s experience with his former love who cheated on him and the writing of this song has been some sort of a therapy to him. This is what Chuck said in one interview:<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a song about falling in love with someone and being surprised and very disappointed that they\u2019d do something like that to you when you give them your heart. I think a lot of people feel very betrayed. We wrote a song and it feels good to write about it because at the time that\u2019s all I could think about.”<\/i><\/p>\n

In one interview, the guys even joked that the original chorus was (instead of “Your love is just a LIE!”) supposed to be: “I want you to DIE!”<\/p>\n

Later, in a documentary about Simple Plan, Chuck revealed to George Stombolopoulous that he played the song to the forementioned ex-girlfriend once. Her reaction? “Damn… Is this going to be all over the radio?”<\/i><\/p>\n
