This is breaking news – it has just come to our attention that apparently due to a terrorist threat, the police advised the promoters of the German Rock Am Ring festival<\/b>, where Simple Plan just finished performing<\/a> a few moments ago, to have all 80 000 festival attendees exit the festival grounds. <\/p>\n

According to fan accounts, all attendees acted is a calm manner, nobody panicked and everyone followed the instructions of the promoters. <\/p>\n

“Due to a terrorist threat the police have advised us to interrupt the festival. We ask all festival visitors to leave the festival site in a calm and controlled manner towards the exits and camping grounds. We have to support the police investigations. All visitors will be kept informed about any developments on all Rock am Ring Social Media channels, radio and the speakers. We hope that the festival will continue tomorrow. Thank you for your cooperation.”<\/i><\/p>\n

Local police said in a statement that the decision to cancel the festival was made due to “concrete leads” for a terror threat. This comes only two weeks after 22 people were killed in a terrorist attack at a concert in Manchester, UK.<\/p>\n

“Due to terrorist threats, Rock AM Ring has been evacuated. We are safe and following instructions from the promoter. Will keep you updated.”<\/i><\/p>\n
