<\/center><\/p>\nOver a year ago, just in the middle of the pandemic, Pierre Bouvier started working with a talented young singer Beckett McDowell<\/b>, the son of the actor Malcolm McDowell (Clockwork Orange), who happened to be Pierre’s neighbour.<\/p>\n
Pierre produced a full album of songs for Beckett, often co-written by both Pierre and Chuck from Simple Plan. The first song of the album – “Weirdo”<\/b> came out this month and Beckett recently revealed a little bit more about how his collaboration with Pierre came about and mentioned that the song was in fact originally written as a pop-punk Simple Plan song. <\/b><\/p>\n“Weirdo came to be because I\u2019m neighbor with my buddy Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan and my little brother Finn McDowell golfs with him sometimes and he was like: \u201cHey, you should check out my brother\u2019s new album!\u201d Cause I\u2019ve written and done an album previously that I\u2019ve never released it. Pierre\u2019s like \u201cOkay, cool!\u201d So he listened to it and he was like \u201cYeah, that sounds awesome.\u201d So he\u2019s like \u201cHey, I got this song \u2018Weirdo\u2019 for you.\u201d It was a Simple Plan song and it was written by him and Chuck, the drummer, and Nick Bailey, their buddy. And I was like “Oh, this is a great song!\u201d It was very pop-punky and I changed it to kind of a pop song. I mean, we did together, obviously. But like he made it, he changed it from major to minor, and I wrote the bridge and like before you knew it, we were in love!
