This morning, Chuck Comeau attended two panels at the Canadian Music Week as a speaker along with Simple Plan’s manager, Eric Lawrence<\/b>. The panels were entitled “Road Cases: Exporting Simple Plan – Case Study” and “Coalition Music Artist Enterpreneur” – and both of them dealt with the business side of music. <\/p>\n
As Eric Lawrence said on one of the panels: “It is now a must that there’s somebody in the band who understands business. There’s gotta be somebody driving the bus”<\/i> – in Simple Plan that person would be Chuck, which is why he was invited to talk about his views on the music business. <\/p>\n
And while there is no video of the panel discussions (yet), here is a couple of interesting quotes<\/b> that the attendees of these panels could hear from Chuck Comeau:<\/p>\n “We not the best band, but we’re going to outwork all the other bands.”<\/b><\/p>\n “It’s all art. It’s business – but it is all an extension of your art and who you are.”<\/b> – on music and business.<\/p>\n “You have to go.
