“Thank you” message from Simple Plan regarding SPF benefit event

In just a couple of hours, Simple Plan will host this year’s annual Simple Plan Foundation benefit event at the Corona Theatre in Montreal, which will include an acoustic performance of Simple Plan and also Marie-Mai, a silent auction, meet&greet with the members of the band and according to Sebastien’s tweet, also another yet-unknown exciting thing.

The band is extremely grateful that thanks to the fans and other attendees, the event is currently sold-out. And to express their thanks, they posted a very sweet message on their Facebook page today, including an announcement that this year, Simple Plan Foundation will be donating over $300 000 to various charities:

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to take a minute to thank everybody who is attending our SP Foundation event today! It’s completely sold out and you made it a huge success! It’s always such a pleasure to know that our fans support our charitable efforts and are always there to help us help young people in need! We love hanging out with you, taking pictures and spending a special day with all of you at the Foundation’s events.

We’re very proud to announce that this year, we will donate over 300 000$ to various charitable groups working to help young people in need. Since its inception, the SP Foundation has donated over 1.5 million dollars! Thank you all for making this possible!

Thank you to Marie-Mai for playing with us, all the volunteers who give their time and energy to put on the events, all our sponsors and donators as well as the bands, athletes and celebrities who donated items for our auction. You’re all amazing and we couldn’t do it without you!

And of course, a huge thank you to our fans who are the reason why we are able to do this in the first place. You’re all so awesome!

If you couldn’t attend the show this year but still want to contribute to the Foundation, you can always visit www.simpleplanfoundation.com to donate.

Thanks and see you all next year!

Chuck, Pierre, Jeff, David and Seb.
