VIDEO + RECAP: Interview from France

Make My Millenium filmed an interview with Pierre, Jeff and David from Simple Plan in Paris, France and thanks to Sab you can now check out a recap of this French interview below the video:

– SP are happy to be back in Paris because they have a good complicity with the people there. Plus, they made the best of their day off in Paris (eating crêpes with chocolate)

– The fact that the show was sold-out and took place in a small venue is very enjoyable for them because they can interact with the crowd, see the fans’ faces and feel closer to them. Even though the Paris crowds are known to always seems to be bored (because of the fact that a lot of bands play there), Simple Plan don’t feel like it’s true. They always have fun and feel the energy.

– Jeff talks about the show in Lyon and that special moment when the fans showed some “Thank You” signs.

– Regarding new album: they spent a lot of time writing, it took almost two years. They try to make new music with the “Simple Plan touch” but they also try to make something that doesn’t always sound the same. Pierre explains that Boom sounds like the old songs from the band, but on the next album we will also have songs that sound different. Jeff explained that they made a mistake thinking they would have been ready to release the album in October, and that’s why it is postponed to early 2016. It is 90% ready, but they have to take time on the 10% left. Also, because of the collaborations, it wasn’t easy to find moments when everyone was available. (They can’t say who they are collaborating with yet) But it should be the best album they have ever released.

– On their 15 years in the band: they tried new stuff (like singing in French) but they always ask themselves “It is Simple Plan?” before doing anything new. They are always trying to stay true and honest towards their music. Their biggest pride is that the band is still the same 5 guys and it’s not the case for a lot of bands. They often do concerts/festivals with bands in which they can feel the tension between the members, some that split, some that replaced a member. Simple Plan’s foundation is their friendship. They shared their teenage dream of traveling the world together and it happened. They still share their dreams.

– If he wasn’t in the band, Pierre doesn’t know what he would have been doing today. David would have enjoyed being a pilot. Jeff probably would have become a classic music teacher. Pierre jokes about it saying that Jeff should play in the metro in Paris and says that he ran into some pretty good musicians playing there, he already gave them 7€.

– They gave advice to new bands playing at Warped Tour: take sun screen, bring some travel-shower, a lot of condoms and always ask for IDs.

– They thanked their French fans for their loyalty because they have been seeing the same faces on tour for years. David thanks Citroën for making them famous in France (Welcome To My Life was in a commercial back in 2006).
