Here’s another great new interview, which was recorded yesterday in Madrid, Spain for Mariskal Rock. In this over half-an-hour-long interview, Pierre dove into topics such as their fans sometimes being overly expressive when it comes to criticism (on some of the earlier more “poppy” songs the band released) and the band dealing with their anger over this situation by writing songs such as ‘Opinion Overload’. I definitely recommend you checking out this interview, even despite its length:
I’m so glad he’s explaining these songs and saying FU. I completely agree with what he’s saying. I think it’s very important that we let SP do what they wanna do and trust that they will always write and sing/play amazing songs.
I look at it this way: when people say I’ve changed, it just means that I’ve stopped acting the way they wanted me to act. So that means I’ve grown. And it’s the same with SP: in my eyes they haven’t changed throughout the years, they’ve grown – in for me such a positive way. And growing is a necessity for development. And personal development covers activities that improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential. So without the development of SP, they wouldn’t have been where they are today. And I’m SO glad they’ve grown, because this new album is – in my opinion – the best album so far. Just felt like pouring my heart out after watching this great interview.
