If you keep attention to the news, you have probably already noted that ths year’s Olympics in Canada have been connected to Simple Plan a lot – not only did the band perform at the opening festivities, the guys also played at the closing ceremony – that’s why it may not be such a surprise for you to hear now that they also attended the gala evening for Canadian Olympic Hall Of Fame yesterday.
Chuck himself tweeted about this event after the soundcheck:
“Just did a soundcheck for the huge Olympic – Canadian Hall of Fame ceremony tonight. Congrats to all the athletes! Proud to be part of it!
More than 1200 guests showed up to welcome Canadian athletes as they entered the Canadian Olympic Hall Of Fame, in Bell Center, Montreal. Apart from the athletes, the guests also witnessed musical performances of Canadian artists – Sarah McLachlan, Tom Cochrane, Ginette Reno, the Canadian Tenors, Simple Plan, and singers Annie Villeneuve and Nikki Yanofsky, accompanied by composer Stephanem Moccio, who performed the CTV’s Vancouver 2010 theme song “I Believe/J’imagine”.
This ceremony will air on CTV tonight at 8pm EST so we expect first photos and videos from this event in the next couple of days.
