The last week has been filled with lots of little special news that are definitely worth mentioning. So, here is the recap:
Not only have Simple Plan been recently nominated for one of the MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVA), but they have also been confirmed as one of the performers at this year’s MMVAs! The show will take place on June 19th 2011 in Canada.
In last night’s live webchat (apart from other things) Simple Plan have also mentioned they like to visit various Simple Plan fansites and Pierre even mentioned SimplePlan.cz as the first one, saying he likes it (and according to other sources apparently visits every day) and Chuck added it’s really good :) Also, the band is currently trying to figure out a name for all their fans (just like Lady Gaga has her “monsters”). So far the one with the most votes seems to be “the astronauts” (according to the song Astronaut, which goes like this: “So I’m calling all the astronauts, all the lonely people that the world forgot”). What are your thought on “the astronauts”?
In the last few days I got plenty of comments from you guys asking if have a right to post the YouTube videos of the live versions of new SP songs that haven’t been released yet – that means Astronaut and Last One Standing. So I let my little soldiers ask Pierre what he thinks about it and Pierre said it was okay and that he and the band don’t mind at all.
And a little cherry on top: Frank Borin, a long-time friend of SP and a director of 6 of their music videos, was shooting a commercial in the Czech Republic in the past two days. I had the opportunity to chat a bit with him, forwarded all you guys’ greetings and Frank was very pleased to hear about all the positive reactions on his Jet Lag video. He even said he was supposed to tour with Simple Plan on this promo tour (Poland, Germany…) but unfortunately had to work.
