Will “This Song Saved My Life” be Simple Plan’s next single?

In a new interview for May The Rock Be With You (which I definitely recommend for you to read), the journalist asked Chuck and Sebastien, whether the band plans on releasing any new single.

“Yeah we might release something else,” revealed Sebastien.

Chuck on the other hand was slightly more specific about the band’s possible new single: “It’s not official, but there’s a song that’s really special to all the fans and special to us ‘This Song Saved My Life’ and there’s something about that song that’s kind of unique and a little magical for us, so I think we’re going to do something with that.”

From day one, many Simple Plan fans have been saying that “This Song Saved My Life” should become the band’s next single, as a lot of them can relate to this song, which is about how a particular song (or a band) can mean the whole world to you. That’s why it’s considered to be one of the most emotional songs on the Get Your Heart On! album.

On contrary, there are also other groups of fans, who think that the very personal feeling of this song, might lose its meaning with a massive production of this song (as a single or even a music video).

Which side are you on? Do you think that Simple Plan should release “This Song Saved My Life” as their next single? And if the music video would be in works, what should it look like?

I think that if there’s a video for ‘This song saved my life’ it should feature fans at concerts and soundcheck and stuff like that. Maybe some footage from when the fans welcome them at airports would be nice too :)
