11 years since the release of “Still Not Getting Any”

Simple Plan’s second studio album, “Still Not Getting Any…”, that came out on October 26th 2004, celebrates its 11th birthday today!

This album, which brought a whole new generation of fans to Simple Plan and sold over 1 million units (for which it has received the “Platinum” status by RIAA), included singles such as Shut Up!, Welcome To My Life, Crazy and Untitled. Under the production of Bob Rock and strict deadlines, Simple Plan managed to write and record this album in under 2 and half months. And even the post-production process was quite fast: the guys finished recording on September 15 and started promoting it the very next day!

The title of the album, which is also a double entendre, has been explained many times by the band as (1) the obvious sexual connotation and (2) as “still not getting any respect”, which the guys have indeed still not been getting any of and have been getting two types of reactions to their music: people either loved them or hated them.

The arrival of the album on October 26th was celebrated wth a free performance in Times Square in New York City, an MTV TRL appearance, a Virgin Megastore signing session and a day later with a big release party.

Make sure to give this album a listen on this special day! You can listen to the full version here.
