SP for TV Óčko: “Prague has become one of our favorite European destinations!”

Besides SimplePlan.cz and Evropa 2, Simple Plan also did an interview for DNES.cz/TV Óčko at the recent Aerodrome Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, which has now been released online. Check out what Chuck and Seb had to say about the Czech Republic, its fans and find out which member of the band is often in charge of booking tours (three guesses who!):

Update: IDNES.cz also published the full (8-minutes-long) version of this inteview, which is unfortunately dubbed. You may be able to hear some of the English parts of the interview though, if you listen carefully. Check it out below:

Members of Simple Plan to be honored with Canadian Meritorious Service Cross

In the past few years, Simple Plan have been recognized by a number of organizations for their charitable efforts and help in their community through their Simple Plan Foundation.

In 2012 they received the “Allan Waters Humanitarian Award” at the Juno Awards and Yahoo! Canada honored Simple Plan “Canadian with the biggest impact” award, in 2013 Radio Canada named them “Personality Of The Year” and they also received the “Allan Slaight Humanitarian Spirit Award” at the Canadian Radio Music Awards. And of course we can’t forget the Queen Elizabeth II’s “Diamond Jubilee Medal” and the “YMCA Peace Medal”, which they received in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

And this week, Simple Plan will be able to add one more valuable medal to their collection: the Meritorious Service Cross.

The Meritorious Service Cross is one of the two Meritorious Service Decorations in Canada, which is awarded to individuals, who have demonstrated an outstanding level of service or set an exemplary standard of achievement to benefit or honour Canada. Their acts are often innovative, set an example or model for others to follow, or respond to a particular challenge faced by a community. The best candidates are those who inspire others through their motivation to find solutions to specific and pressing needs or provide an important service to their community or country. Simple Plan’s contribution is of course mainly associated with their Foundation. Read the Governor General Of Canada’s statement regarding honoring the members of Simple Plan with the Meritorious Service Cross:

“Through their foundation, the members of Simple Plan, a world-renowned rock band, have made it their mission to help youth in need. Appreciated for both their philanthropy and community involvement, they actively support numerous charitable projects, lending their star power and giving of their time, both in Canada and abroad.”

The ceremony will begin at 10:30am on June 23rd and Pierre Bouvier, Jeff Stinco, Chuck Comeau and Sebastien Lefebvre should be present. According to the Governor General of Canada’s website, David Desrosiers will not be unfortunately present at the ceremony and the Meritorious Service Cross will be presented to him at a later date.

We would like to express our greatest congratulations to the members Simple Plan who are about to receive this honorable and well-deserved decoration for everything they’ve done in the past for others in various spheres of life and still continue to do so.

PHOTOS: Tourbus interview with Jeff in Hungary

The Hungarian server Igeretes Titánok did an interview with Jeff Stinco last week, while Simple Plan were in Budapest, Hungary. The interview is in English, so you can read it here no problem – and make sure you do – the interview very interestingly delves into the topics on illegal downloads, streaming and the age of social media. Definitely worth a read!

Meanwhile, check out also some of the great pictures taken during this interview:

Gallery update: last three shows of SP’s European tour
