Jeff set to appear in an episode of new TV program Méchant Trip

If there’s a guy who always has some interesting projects up his sleeve, it’s definitely Jeff Stinco. Thanks to SPB, it has now been revealed that Simple Plan’s lead guitarist will be featured in one of the upcoming episodes of a brand new TV series, which will air on APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) called ‘Méchant Trip’.

In each of the 13 episodes of Méchant Trip, an aboriginal person with certain skills will get to meet a well-known Canadian personality, who they will try to practice these skills with together. As you will be able to see from the trailer for this show that premieres on May 1st, in Jeff’s episode, he will meet Ève Custeau Wiscutie, an 18-year-old girl from the Algonkian Indian tribe. Together they will try to climb a 12 meters high wall, after which Jeff invited the girl for a home-made poutine and the Simple Plan show at Acton Vale (the episode was filmed in August 2016).

Check out the trailer below and also a couple of images from the filming in the gallery:

Herby Moreau’s documentary from Simple Plan’s tour in editing process

You may recall that back in December 2016 when Simple Plan headed to South America, during their 4-shows-long brazilian tour, the Canadian jouralist Herby Moreau accompanied the band on this Brazilian part of the Taking One For The Team tour along with his film crew. Their job was to document this tour for Moreau’s documentary series Vie de tournée.

We already know that many things such as fan encounters, backstage stuff and concerts were filmed for this documentary, but what we didn’t know was how close we were to actually seeing the outcome. Well – we seem to be very close! According to Herby Moreau’s Instagram Stories from yesterday, the documentary is currently in the editing process. Check out the story on the video below:

Watch Simple Plan’s ‘Shut Up’ in 2006 Coca-Cola ad

Back in 2005, The Coca-Cola Company started a new ad campaign called ‘Make It Real’, which replaced the original ‘Real’ campaign for Coca-Cola from the brand’s previous years. ‘Make It Real’ targeted younger audience: teenagers and young adults by showing clips that resonated with them on a more deeper level: by making the brand more integral to the young person’s life and more relatable.

In this campaign, which was created by the NY based Berlin Cameron advertising agency, among many other spots, one in particular stands out for the Simple Plan fans. The clip depicts through a very real-life-looking footage a story of a group of young people who head out on the road to have an adventure, record music, film themselves and just have fun. And while all the activities in the clip certainly helped in targeting the right audience, the addition of Simple Plan’s song ‘Shut Up’, very popular in those years, as the SNGA album was released just a year prior to that, made the clip even more relatable.

Check out the video of this clip of a Simple Plan song in this Coca-Cola TV spot that our colleagues over at SPB dug up:

Opening bands Set It Off and Seaway say goodbye to Simple Plan

For the past month, Simpl Plan were accompanied on their NPNHJB tour in the U.S. by two stunning acts, Set It Off and Seaway, who’s task was to properly warm up the crowd before each SP set.

The tour’s final destination brought these three bands to San Diego, CA, where these bands were forced to say their goodbyes and head back home. For Set It Off, it won’t be long before they reunite with Simple Plan again, as they will be opening for them on the second part of the U.S. tour in the summer. But that definitely didn’t stop this band to share their sadness over the end of the tour with their newly aquired friends.

Cody Carson, the lead singer of Set It Off, for instance thanked SP on Twitter:

Maxx Danziger, Set It Off’s drummer, also expressed his sadness. Check out his tweet below:

Simple Plan and Set It Off got along very well throughout the whole tour. Just a week ago for example, Cody, Chady, Danny, Cowboy, Pierre and Seb went out together to play some laser tag. Check out a photo of them below:

And we cannot forget Seaway, a fellow Canadian band, who were the first to play at each date of this No Pads tour. Seaway also tweeted out thanks to both of the bands, and from a picture of Seaway and Set It off together [check it out here], we can tell some of the band members also picked up some of the Role Model t-shirts that were available at Simple Plan’s merch table.

New black & white photoshoot of Simple Plan

Simple Plan said their goodbyes to the U.S. tour two days ago and now are all back home enjoying some downtime before they hit the road again in a little over a month from now in Europe.
