Setlist of Simple Plan’s tour in Mexico

After more than half a year of not setting foot on a stage and also for the first time “out of the country” (if we don’t count the two countries SP members reside in – Canada and the U.S.) ever since COVID hit, the boys flew to Mexico at the end of last week to perform at one festival and three headlining shows. On Saturday, Simple Plan performed at the Tecato Pa’l Norte festival in Monterrey, Mexico and yesterday they finally did their own show in Mexico City (with Papa Roach and Emo Nite). On Wednesday, they will be performing in Guadalajara and Thursday is gonna be a great night for the SP fans in Puebla.

I’m sure many of you are already wondering what the setlist of these shows looks like. Simple Plan are mostly known to sticking to a certain structure of a setlist and only sometimes changing one or two songs. Already we have two setlists available – one from a festival and one from a headlining show. Given that distinction, it’s clear that the festival setlist had to be a bit shorter (15 songs), while the headlining show’s setlist got to be a little longer (17 songs). This longer setlist is what you can be looking at as a guide to what the remaining two shows of the tour may look like.

Below you can check out the full setlist from the headlining show in Mexico City from April 4th. The only difference between this setlist and the festival one was the addition of ‘Take My Hand’ and ‘Where I Belong’:

1. I’d Do Anything
2. Shut Up!
3. Jump
4. Addicted
5. Jet Lag
6. Boom!
7. Your Love Is a Lie
8. Welcome to My Life
9. The Antidote
10. Take My Hand
11. Where I Belong
12. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
13. Crazy
14. Summer Paradise
15. What’s New Scooby Doo
16. I’m Just a Kid
17. Perfect

At the Tecato Pa’l Norte festival in Monterrey, Simple Plan debuted with the first ever official live performance of ‘The Antidote’. Make sure to check out the video below to see what this performance of SP’s first single off their upcoming album (Harder Than It Looks – comes out May 6th) looked like:

Simple Plan’s next single to be ‘Wake Me Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)’

The recently announced new SP song that the fans will first get to hear next Friday, April 8th 2022, will be the first track of Simple Plan’s upcoming album ‘Harder Than It Looks’ called ‘Wake Me Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)’. And in fact, it will also be the band next official single. The band has announced it alongside the single’s artwork on their social media today.

Make sure to pre-save ‘Harder Than It Looks’ on your favorite streaming platform for the new song to be immediately added to your library upon its release.

So what do we know about this song so far? According to Chuck’s comment today, it is “one of his favorites on the album”. Pierre has also mentioned this song recently in his Billboard interview, where he talked about this song’s lyrics somewhat seeming as a “premonition” of the COVID-19 pandemic, despite it being written way before it. Generally, he described this song to be about “life and love”.

Make sure to stick around on April 8th to listen to ‘Wake Me Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)’.

Simple Plan to release new album on blue & pink marble vinyl

Simple Plan’s 6th studio album, which is set to be released on May 6th, will not only be released digitally and on physical CDs, but fans will also be able to purchase special limited editions of the record on vinyl!

On multiple online music websites, you can already pre-order the Harder Than It Looks vinyl – in 2 beautiful variations: a blue or pink marble vinyl.

We are currently unsure of the actual look of the vinyl as multiple websites keep using different images for the actual marble disc. Besides the ones in the header above (which can be found on the Impericon website – blue & pink for about 31 €), we also found a different pink design on the Rough Trade website (for $24.99 – however already sold-out):

The tracklist will be split in half on each side of the vinyl, each containing 5 songs. It seems there won’t be any bonus tracks on these vinyls.

While the band hasn’t announced the release of these vinyls yet, all of the music websites we’ve found that offer the pre-order of these vinyls seem to be stating October 28th 2022 as the release date.

Will you be grabbing one too?

Simple Plan to attend H2O le festival in Quebec in July!

Simple Plan have just been announced to perform at yet another Canadian festival over this summer. During their short July “break” from the Blame Canada tour with Sum 41, Simple Plan will now also play at the H2O le festival in the city of Amos in Quebec.

The festival takes place from 14th to 17th July – the actual date of the Simple Plan concert however is still yet to be announced.

You can find out more info on the festival’s website.

Simple Plan to release a new song next week!

Not even a day after Pierre Bouvier let it slip during a livestream on Instagram that Simple Plan would be releasing a brand new song from their upcoming album ‘Harder Than It Looks’ (out May 6th) “in just a few weeks”, the band came out with an announcement today.

On Instagram, the band shared an illustrated image with a date that refers to April 8th 2022, which is the assumed release date of the already predicted new song. The image, which we assume will be used on the song’s artwork, depicts a rigged little boy from the back, holding on to his teddy bear.

Which song will it be? There are no clues to it as of yet, but surely the band will let us know in time. In the meantime, you can go back and check out the already released tracklist of the songs that will be featured on the album and guess which of the songs might this illustration be tied to. Any guesses?
