Many news websites (including Kerrang) have already released the tracklist for Simple Plan’s upcoming 6th studio album ‘Harder Than It Looks’, which is set to be released on May 6th. According to the information available, the album will contain 10 tracks in total, only one of which will have a featuring artist (the already announced Deryck Whibley on ‘Ruin My Life’).

Let’s have a look at the song titles:

1. Wake Me Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)
2. Ruin My Life (feat. Deryck Whibley)
3. The Antidote
4. A Million Pictures Of You
5. Anxiety
6. Congratulations
7. Iconic
8. Best Day Of My Life
9. Slow Motion
10. Two

As of right now, we have heard three songs so far – Ruin My Life, The Antidote and Congratulations. Not much is known about the rest of the tracks right now – the only one we can find a little information about is the first song off the album – ‘Wake My Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)’, which in the recent Billboard article, Pierre called a “premonition” of the COVID-19 pandemic, despite it being written and recorded before the world even knew about the viruse. According to Pierre the song was generally written about “life and love”.

Listen to Simple Plan’s new song ‘Congratulations’

To celebrate the announcement of the release of their upcoming 6th studio album ‘Harder Than It Looks’ (May 6th), Simple Plan released a brand new song, which will be featured as track number 6 on this album, titled ‘Congratulations’ and according to the band it is their latest official single.

The song is very up-beat quintessential Simple Plan and will keep you singing along all day long. You can have a look at the “dagger-in-a-heart” artwork for this song in our gallery and finally listen to the full song below through the official visualizer:

Congratulations
With a smile on your face
Talking sweet when you say
That you had no clue
You had no clue
But all this time, a perfect plan
To stick your knife in my back
Just like you hoped to
Like you hoped to
But you’re the one that’s gotta live with what you do
(You’re the one that’s gotta live with what you do)
Karma karma’s gonna come right back for
Karma karma’s gonna come right back for you
Congratulations
I hope you’re happy now
With the little that you got
Was it worth it?
But just remember
That what goes up comes down
It’s a long fall from the top
Congratulations
Congratulations
It must feel good, it must be nice
When your heart is cold as ice
And you feel nothin’
You feel nothin’
But is it hard to fall asleep
To close your eyes, do you see
The payback comin’
It’s comin’, yeah
You’re the one that’s gotta live with what you do
(You’re the one that’s gotta live with what you do)
Karma karma’s gonna come right back for
Karma karma’s comin’ back for you
Congratulations
I hope you’re happy now
With the little that you got
Was it worth it?
But just remember
That what goes up comes down
It’s a long fall from the top
Congratulations
Congratulations
You’re the one that’s gotta live with what you do
(You’re the one that’s gotta live with what you do)
Karma karma’s gonna come right back for you
Congratulations (congratulations, congratulations)
Congratulations
I hope you’re happy now
With the little that you got
Was it worth it?
But just remember
That what goes up comes down
It’s a long fall from the top
Congratulations
Congratulations
Congratulations
Congratulations

Simple Plan tease new album concept with the photoshoot

Over the past week, Simple Plan have slowly begun posting a bunch of very random photoshoots of their band members, which seem to be tied to the concept of their upcoming 6th studio album. These images all seemed to revolving around the topic of different type of work or occupations.

So far, Simple Plan have posted these photos of Sebastien (who is pictured slagging off, eating a donut in an office workspace) and Pierre (who is pictured as a construction worker) – you can find them all in our gallery. The band’s Instagram profile accompanied these images with descriptions such as “hard at work” or “can’t rush a genius”.

The title of the album is unknown yet but we’re more than certain that these images will be the key to it eventually. Can you already guess what play on words will the boys choose this time around?

Simple Plan and Sum 41 announce co-headlining U.S. tour!

Just a couple weeks ago something totally unimaginable – now a reality! That’s what the newly announced co-headlining Simple Plan x Sum 41 tour across the United States is.

After announcing the Deryck Whibley featuring on the new Simple Plan single ‘Ruin My Life’, the two Canadian bands decided to make their U.S. fans very happy and finally return after many previous covid-related cancelations. The first part of the ‘Blame Canada’ tour will begin on April 29th in Raleigh, NC and will finish on May 27th in New Orleans, LA. The bands will then take a little breather in June and July (where they already have some festival obligations) and then get back to touring together for part 2 of their tour from July 29 in Tulsa, OK all the way to Denver, CO on August 18th.

The tour will celebrate the 20th anniversary of both bands’ debut albums – Sum 41’s album ‘All Killer No Filler’ (2001) and Simple Plan’s debut ‘No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls’ (2002).

As part of the upcoming tour, $1 of each ticket sold will help raise funds for the Simple Plan Foundation and Sweet Relief’s Covid-19 Fund. Since 2005 the Simple Plan Foundation has donated over $2M to various charitable causes in Canada to help young people in need. In 2020, Sweet Relief started the Covid-19 Fund to provide emergency financial assistance to music industry professionals who have been devastated by the pandemic.

Tickets and VIP packages officially go on sale Friday, February 25th at 10am local time. Pre-sale begins today here until February 24th at 10pm using the code JUSTAKID.
