SP perform Lucky One and more at a special acoustic concert in Argentina

It’s not a very common sight for us to see the auditorium at a Simple Plan concert to be filled with seats. But that’s what the fans in Argentina were in for yesterday, when Simple Plan performed at the Teatro Opera Allianz venue in Buenos Aires, which holds up to 2 500 people. Due to the nature of the venue, the concert was announced as a special acoustic one, and whether it was because of it’s “specialness” or just because of the excitement of the local fans, it was very soon sold-out.

But despite the seats behind them, the fans were up on their feet for the whole course of the concert, singing, jumping and dancing and even putting up “You’re perfectly perfect to us” signs during ‘Perfectly Perfect’. And the guys sure paid their fans back for this gratiousness by changing up their setlist quite a bit, making the concert even more special. The acoustic setting allowed them to perform some different songs, which meant that they replaced their traditional party medley with ‘Astronaut’ and to a great surprise the band also replaced ‘Farewell’ with ‘Lucky One’ (song from their 2013 EP). Check out a short video of their performed on this song below:

VLOG: Airport craziness in Brazil

In the past few days, when Simple Plan were in Brazil, every airport they landed at had hundreds of loyal fans waiting for the band, hoping to score a selfie with Pierre, Seb, Chuck or Jeff. The boys have now put together a short vlog of their airport experiences in Brazil, so if you wanna get a glimpse at them, watch the video below:

Final show in Brazil: light-up shoes, crowdsurfing and Scooby-Doo

On Sunday night Simple Plan finished their stay in Brazil with the final show in the city of Porto Alegre. And it was quite a spectacle to witness!

The guys went all out: Pierre chose to wear his new light-up shoes, which he had received by a couple of fans earlier and the rest of the band also made sure nobody would forget about that night.

Both at soundcheck and at the show itself, the band let the boys from a Brazilian Simple Plan cover band play with them on stage instead of Jeff. With his hands empty, this was the perfect opportunity for Jeff to try out crowdsurfing after some time. Check out how he did on this video (thanks SPB for capturing it):

And it wasn’t just Jeff who took avantage of the crowd this way last night – with Pierre behind the drums for a bit, Chuck dove into the crowd as well. Check out his crowdsurfing experience along with some words from the band below:

The crowd in Porto Alegre was very loud and made sure to be heard. That became very helpful when just by chanting they managed to convince SP to change their setlist on the spot and perform Whaťs New Scooby Doo! Other than that the setlist in Porto Alegre was the same as in Rio on Friday.

Simple Plan’s day off in Brazil

Before heading to Porto Alegre, where Simple Plan are playing their last show in Brazil tonight, the boys had their first day off on this South American tour and decided to spend the first half of it still in Rio de Janeiro. Jeff, Chuck and a few members of their crew hiked up to the status of Jesus Christ that overlooks the city. Check out some pics from their day off in Brazil below:
