Simple Plan rocked New York City – rewatch parts of the show’s livestream!

Yet another sold-out venue awaited Simple Plan at their next stop on their U.S. tour – in New York City, NY. Over 1000 people gathered at Irving Plaza (which is coincidentally the same place where Simple Plan played their very first headlining show in NYC) to witness the band perform their Taking One For The Team tour set. And the venue was definitely ready to host the event – the attendees could even enjoy three special Simple Plan drinks at the bar: Welcome To My Life [vanilla vodka & cola], Summer Paradise [flavored bacardi, sierra mist, splash of cranberry] or Perfect [whiskey, ginger ale, fresh lime].

As advertised earlier, this Simple Plan show has been livestreamed via Live Nation, however unfortunately the multi-camera stream has not been saved for re-watching. Luckily though, some fans were cool enough to record the livestream themselves and post some of the videos online. Below, you can find the setlist from last night [the band once again got rid of Perfectly Perfect and replaced it with Singing In The Rain] – and make sure to check out the video links to those songs that are available on YouTube from last night’s livestream (hopefully I will be adding links to more songs if they appear online):

VIDEO: How well do Simple Plan know each other?

Before their show in New York City tonight, Pierre, Jeff, Seb and Chuck from Simple Plan did a little pre-show livestream game on Live Nation’s Facebook page, in which they tried to guess answers regarding their bandmates. The questions featured in this game included ‘What’s Jeff’s favorite city?’, ‘What instrument did Chuck take lessons on before drums?’ and more! Try play along with them and let’s find out who knows the members of Simple Plan the best! And if I still haven’t convinced you to watch the video, know that every wrong answer meant 5 push-ups :)

You can now rewatch the whole video below:

Also, don’t forget that tonight’s Simple Plan show in New York will be livestreamed on Live Nations’s Youtube channel – you’ll be able to watch it on the video below starting 8:40pm EST (but don’t worry, it should hopefully be available for you to rewatch later as well)!

Simple Plan bring back ‘Perfectly Perfect’ to Philadelphia

After Baltimore, Simple Plan headed to Philadelphia, PA yesterday, where they had yet another sold-out show to perform at. It is no wonder the show was sold-out as the Theatre of Living Arts venue holds only about 800 people.

To the surprise of many attendees, Simple Plan finally changed their setlist a bit again by returning their newest single ‘Perfectly Perfect’ on it for the first time since Santa Ana – replacing their previous single ‘Singing In The Rain’. Check out the full setlist below (thanks Theresa for sending it in!):

According to Theresa‘s review she sent us, neither Pierre nor David attended the soundcheck in Philadelphia yesterday, so the fans were only greeted by Chuck, Jeff and Sebastien. To make up for the two’s absence, Chuck held a little Q&A session with the fans, who could have asked him everything and anything. Here’s a little tidbits of information from this Q&A and the soundcheck itself:

– when asked why the tour was so short, the band replied that it was hard to book because so many places were already booked by other artists
– the band is currently trying to plan out another national tour in the U.S. to hit more places (nothing booked or confirmed as of yet, though)
– the fans also asked the guys to play ‘Vacation’, but they didn’t remember how to play it
– Chuck, Jeff and Seb played ‘Take My Hand’ at the soundcheck

You can check out a bit o the Q&A on the following video:

And as always, here’s a bunch of photos from the show in Philly from last night you can have a look at in the gallery:

Simple Plan to announce a secret musical project at a press conference in Montreal

According to a press release [bit thanks to Janie for letting us know], local media are invited to a press conference in Montreal, Canada that will take place on October 24th at 10am. This press conference is hosted by Simple Plan and the mayor of Montreal, Denis Coderre.

The only known information about this press conference is that Simple Plan are expected to announce an unknown musical project and that the network of the Montreal public libraries is also somehow involved.

It is usually at this time of year when Simple Plan tend to announce or host their Simple Plan Foundation event – will this press conference reveal something about the Foundation’s plans or this year’s donation’s perhaps? Or could it be something entirely different? We shall wait and see what the press conference brings.

By October 24th Simple Plan will be done with the U.S. tour and it is currently unknown whether all the band members will be present at this press conference as Chuck and Pierre reside in the U.S. and they could possibly return home by then. The Montreal-based band members though are very likely to attend.
