Simple Plan confirm ‘Perfectly Perfect’ as 3rd TOFTT single in a new interview

At first, SimplePlan.cz brought you the news that ‘Perfectly Perfect’ may be Simple Plan’s new single, when the Thai radio station Eazy FM 105.5 started putting the song in their rotation two weeks ago. Just moments after that, that news became all the more believable when Warner Music Philippines released a lyric video for the song, making the fans very anxious that it may truly be the band’s new single.

However it wasn’t until now, that the members of Simple Plan finally opened up about ‘Perfectly Perfect’ being their 3rd single from Taking One For The Team (after ‘I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed’ and ‘Singing In The Rain’). When in Thailand, Chuck, Seb and Jeff did an interview with the radio MET 107, in which one of the questions was regarding their new single, that this radio station has also already picked up.

Check out the transcript of this part of the interview below:

Interviewer: “We play your single a lot. And right now, your latest single, ‘Perfectly Perfect’ is now on air as well. Can you say something about your latest single?”

Chuck: “Yeah, you know what? It just came out. And I think it’s actually the first place in the world – in Asia – where it’s an “official” single. It’s a song about.. you know, like when lots of times when you’re dating someone, you’ll hear them being super insecure about their bodies or who they are and everything. And it’s kind of a song that says sometimes what you think is imperfect on you or what you’re insecure about is actually this thing about the person that’s actually a super cool thing. So I think that’s kind of what the song’s about. It’s trying to tell people out there that it’s cool to embrace who you are and be proud of who you are. Because lots of times, the people that are really close to you, that’s what they love the most about you. It’s a cute kind of romantic song.

Jeff: “I thought the song was about me..? I’m really disappointed right now.”

As of right now, it is unknown when the band is planning to shoot and release a music video for this song. But if you were the one in charge of the concept, what would the video be about?

Simple Plan brought back ‘When I’m Gone’ & ‘Everytime’ for final show in Australia

On Wednesday, Simple Plan finished their short Australian tour, that consisted of 5 shows in 3 cities: Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. And all of the concerts were sold-out.

As you already know, Melbourne had the honor of becoming the first city on the Taking One For The Team to get three shows in a row. The final concert took place once again in the Prince Bandroom venue, and still brought in a very excited crowd of fans, even though some of them had seen the band on the first two shows during the previous two nights.

Regarding the setlist, the guys kept the surprising adddition of ‘Addicted’ from previous day – but that is not where the surprises ended! Quite possibly for the first time on this tour, ‘When I’m Gone’ has returned to the setlist (performed instead of ‘Take My Hand’ or ‘Your Love Is A Lie’), and the band also re-added ‘Everytime’ in its acoustic form to their encore, which has been played a number of times during the European tour. Compared to setlist from the second show in Melbourne though, there was no ‘The Rest Of Us’ and the boys also once again replaced – very fittingly, since this was their last show in Australia – ‘I Refuse’ for ‘Farewell’.

Have a look at the full setlist below:

1. Opinion Overload
2. Jet Lag
3. Jump (‚I Gotta Feeling‘ snippet)
4. I’d Do Anything
5. Boom
6. Welcome to My Life
7. Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching
8. When I’m Gone
9. Addicted
10. Party medley – Uptown Funk (Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars cover) & Can’t Feel My Face (The Weeknd cover)
11. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
12. Farewell
13. Summer Paradise
14. Crazy
15. I’m Just a Kid

Encore:
16. Shut Up!
17. Perfect World
18. This Song Saved My Life
19. Everytime (acoustic)
20. Perfect
