Lyric video for ‘Perfectly Perfect’

After we discussed earlier today that Simple Plan’s ‘Perfectly Perfect’ is slowly getting into radio rotation in Asia, this news is coming as another proof that this song is very likely to be Simple Plan’s new single!

Simple Plan have just revealed that Warner Music Philippines created a lyric video for ‘Perfectly Perfect’, which you can check out below. Will a full-on music video follow? We shall wait and see!

Simple Plan to possibly release ‘Perfectly Perfect’ as new single

You may remember that just last week I started a poll on this website, asking you to vote for the song that you, as fans, would like to see Simple Plan release as their third single off Taking One For The Team. The results showed that most of you thought the best choice for single #3 would be ‘Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching’ with ‘Farewell’ and ‘I Refuse’ tied as your second and third option. Of course, these were all just fans’ tips and preferences, not influencing the band’s decision whatsoever.

And what was the band’s final decision, you ask? Well, we can’t be 100% sure, as the band has not confirmed this information yet, however a certain new song is slowly making its way towards various radio stations. It looks like after ‘I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed’ and ‘Singing In The Rain’, Simple Plan are ready to slow things down a bit by possibly releasing ‘Perfectly Perfect’ as their next single.

Our reader Tum from Thailand let us know today that one of the most popular radio stations in Thailand, Eazy FM 105.5 recently added ‘Perfectly Perfect’ into the radio’s rotation. The possible single is also featured on their this week’s TOP 20 chart, where it holds #17 as a “new addition”. Interestingly, the song does not feature any official single artwork yet and the artwork for the TOFTT album has been used instead.

As Simple Plan are heading to Bangkok, Thailand in less than a week (September 8th), it would be a good strategy to release a new single on the local radio stations around this time. However, as I mentioned before, the single has not been confirmed by the band yet, even though its release seems highly likely at this point.

Fun fact: Perfectly Perfect was actually the 4th song on the list of the songs fans wanted as the next single!

What do you think of the possible new Simple Plan single? Do you think it may do well on the radio? Also – be on a look-out and let us know if you hear ‘Perfectly Perfect’ on any of your local radio station!

Fans make Simple Plan extend their encore in South Korea

After 5 years, Simple Plan returned to Seoul, South Korea on September 1st with another electric performance.

According to the band, this was one of the best shows of the tour and the crowd was so great, that after fans started demanding it, the band decided to spontaneously extend their regular setlist and one additional song – Take My Hand – before the closing song Perfect. This is a very rare thing for Simple Plan to add a song to their setlist on the spot – in fact this may have been the first time the band has done that, at least on this current tour!

You can have a look at the moment Simple Plan decided to prolong their setlist in the following video:

Shanghai show no.2: alternate setlist, forgotten lyrics and more!

The Mixing room venue in Shanghai, China got to experience Simple Plan two days in a row, as the band played another show there last night. Once again, the crowd surprised Simple Plan with an umbrella during Singing In The Rain – but this time a red one [thank you, Shanghai fans – now it’s much easier to distinguish between pictures from show no. 1 and no. 2! :)]. A couple more things happened at the second show in Shanghai though!

Apparently during I’m Just A Kid, fans threw toys on the stage, there was also an inflatable giraffe hanging out in the crowd and on the stage during the show and finally, Pierre forgot the lyrics to the first part of I Refuse (big thanks to Dakota for the info from the show).

Regarding the setlist, it’s now confirmed that Simple Plan once again plan on alternating between certain songs (as we’ve gotten used to it during the European tour). That means The Rest Of Us, Take My Hand and the fore-mentioned I Refuse got re-introduced to the setlist, as you can see below [if you want to know whch songs SP tend to alternate on their setlist, check out this section]:

1. Opinion Overload
2. Jet Lag
3. Jump (‚I Gotta Feeling‘ snippet)
4. I’d Do Anything
5. Boom
6. Welcome to My Life
7. The Rest Of Us
8. Take My Hand

15. I’m Just a Kid

Encore:

19. Perfect

Pierre sang Singing in The Rain under an umbrella in Shanghai

Last night Simple Plan played the first of two shows in Shanghai, China (the second show is coming up tonight) and this time around it was not SP who’d surprise the fans, but the other way round.

One of the fans managed to bring an umbrella into the venue, which eventually ended up on the stage, where Pierre picked it up and sang Singing In The Rain under it. Have a look at some of the first photos from last night’s show in Shanghai in the gallery:
