FUSE to host webchat with Simple Plan on Wednesday

Tomorrow, Simple Plan will be heading to New York to do some more promo and as a part of their Manhattan trip they will also be visiting the FUSE TV offices!

As FUSE announced on their official Twitter, Simple Plan will be hosting a special live webchat on FUSE’s Facebook page tomorrow, Wednesday, August 10th at 4pm EST [for Europeans: that’s 10pm CET]. Don’t forget to tune in, as you’ll be able to ask Simple Plan some cool questions they might answer!

But if you can’t make it to the webchat, have no worries, as always SimplePlan.cz will be covering this webchat and if there’s any important info, you can look forward to a recap of it the next day! Also – as this is a Facebook webchat, chances are, you’ll be able to stream the video later also.

Members of Simple Plan met up with children from music camp

Before their performance at the Innu Nikamu festival in Sept-Iles, the members of Simple Plan took the time to meet children from the Camp Attitude Rock music camp, which is annually attended by kids aged 8 to 16, who attend various music workshops, perform and record their own recordings at this music camp. The band talked to to the children about their passion for music, signed autographed and also posed for many selfies.

Patrick explains disappearance of Role Model Clothing and teases future plans in new interview

Our colleagues over at SP:BR had the chance to interview Patrick Langlois at his current new job at the ÉNERGIE 94.3 Montréal radio and got to ask him a couple of interesting questions. As you surely remember, Patrick, former merch guy, cameraman and photographer of Simple Plan (until 2009), is also one of the founders of Role Model Clothing – alongside Pierre and Chuck. This clothing company, which to Simple Plan fans has probably similar meaning as Famous Stars And Straps has to the fans of Blink-182, started along with the start of Simple Plan, but unfortunately around 2010 Role Model Clothing slowly disappeared, even despite rumors of it coming back and a “coming soon” logo that has been on the brand’s website for many following years.

In the 2013 SimplePlan.cz Skype interview with Chuck, we already touched the subject of what happened – that the guys teamed up with a certain company, in hopes of making the brand bigger, but things didn’t work out exactly according to plan and the owners of Role Model Clothing ended up splitting with the company. No more details regarding this split between the two companies have been revealed – until now. This new interview with Patrick shed some more light on this situation and Patrick also commented on his hopes for future re-appearance of Role Model Clothing – mostly after feedback from fans on his recent Instagram post, in which he posted new Rihanna merch, which features the name “Role Model”, written in a very familiar font.

Check out what Patrick said about Role Model Clothing – and what his possible future plans with the brand are – and definitely also make sure to watch the full interview with him below:

“The thing is – we partnered up with a company and the idea was to bring you guys high quality clothes and get better distribution. And that company.. they kinda screwed us, and they sucked. And they ended up owing us a bunch of money and we had to take them to court and then they declared bancrupcy… And after all that, we kind of looked at each other like: ‘Man, what are we do? Do we like relaunch, do we rebrand, do we start over?’ And Chuck and Pierre were on tour, I was in Montreal, just had a kid, and I don’t know, like, we didn’t have it in us anymore. I think that “failure” kind of like kicked us in the balls a bit and […] so we just decided to give it up.

But now, with Rihanna! Did you see? She launched her tour merch – it says “Role Model” all over. I have a secret plan to just relaunch some classic models, limited edition, on some good quality t-shirts and give all the profit and all the money to the Simple Plan Foundation. Just for fun, you know. Not for business…”

Simple Plan held a free acoustic show in Rhode Island

Initially, yesterday’s Simple Plan show at The Met in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, was supposed to be only an intimate acoustic event for a few lucky winners of the Coast 93.3 radio station. However, Simple Plan decided last minute to announce via Pierre’s Instagram account that the band was inviting all their fans to attend the show for free!

Come check out the first pictures from this acoustic concert in the gallery:

Simple Plan surprised with two special live collabs at Innu Nikamu

Last night during their show at the Innu Nikamu festival in Sept-Iles, Simple Plan brought not just one, but two surprise acts on the stage!

Firstly, during ‘Jet Lag’, the singer Mariame, who was a part of the festival’s line-up, performed the female vocals on the English verstion of the song and therefore will soon be added to the ever-growing list of female singers who sang on Jet Lag. Check out a short video of this live collaboration below:

The next collaboration that took place that day at Innu Nikamu was the one of Simple Plan with Shauit. Shauit, originally from the native community of Maliotenam in Northern Quebec, is a Canadian singer/song-writer, who sings in French, English and his native Innu language. Simple Plan invited him to sing the Sean Paul version of their song ‘Summer Paradise’, where Shauit very credibly delivered all Sean Paul’s lines.
