Simple Plan invite fans to watch Blind Channel’s new video

Blind Channel, the Finnish band that had won the contest to support Simple Plan on the final four dates of their European tour in May and June (in Finland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia), released a brand new video for their song “Deja Fu” recently and for the first initial seconds, the video features a shout-out from some pretty familiar people. Yes, Simple Plan filmed a little bit of an invitation to fans to come and watch Blind Channels new video, which the band has decided to put directly within the video.

5 Seconds Of Summer performed Simple Plan’s ‘Perfect’ in Montreal

As if it wasn’t enough that on Tuesday 5 Seconds Of Summer referenced Simple Plan during their set in Toronto, Canada, last night in Montreal the Australians took it to the next level and paid respects to one of their favorite childhood bands Simple Plan by playing their song ‘Perfect’ on stage in their hometown.

5 Seconds Of Summer reference Simple Plan at a show in Toronto

Last night, on July 12th 2016, the Australian band 5 Seconds Of Summer performed at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, Canada, at a concert that’s part of their Sounds Live Feels Live tour.

In the midst of their set, the band decided to play a little homage to the city of Toronto, often nicknamed as “The Six” [a nickname whose usage grew in the past few months after Drake’s new album ‘Views’‘s original title was announced as ‘Views from the Six’]. This homage included the band singing the words “Living in the Six with …” and adding various Canadian musicians they could think of. And besides Drake, Avril Lavigne, The Weeknd and Nickelback, the boys from 5SOS also didn’t fail to mention their pals from Simple Plan, which was of course met with very loud screams from the crowd.

Chuck explains touring schedule issues in message to fans

You may or may not know this, but it’s not just the band’s management who sets up the Simple Plan tours – the band gets actively involved as well, mostly Chuck. If you ever see him walking around with a cell phone glued to his hand, you can be almost certain he’s working out something band-related.

With the recent announcement of the Simple Plan tour in Australia, where the band is heading out to “only” 3 cities on the whole continent, all of which are on the east coast, and two of which are 18+ events, some fans began to express their disappointment with the touring schedule on social media. This was one of the reasons why Chuck took to Twitter last night to explain the situation and make sure the fans knew that they always try to do their best to come to every country and every city they can, but sometimes there are reasons beyond the band’s control, which prevent them from coming to certain palces.

Please, read the following message from Chuck that he posted on Twitter and rest assured the band wants to see you as much as you want to see them:

Wanted to write something important for you to read: you have no idea how hard we worked on setting up all the #TeamSPTour shows this year. It’s been really difficult to organize all the tours, dealing w/ local promoters, scheduling, logistics, travel, venues availability…etc. We 100% want to go play everywhere & come see our fans. Please believe me when I say that. That’s why we make sacrifices and go on tour. Because we love playing shows and we love seeing you. There’s nothing more amazing for us than seeing that people enjoying our music.

We tried our best to go to as many places as we could this year. I know we’ve missed some cities and some countries and I’m sorry for that. It literally breaks my heart when I know some fans have been waiting for us and they’re upset we are not coming to play for them. I’m sorry that we are missing some cities and countries. A lot of times, it’s been for reasons out of our control. But it still sucks. I wish we could go to every city, only on Friday and Saturday nights, so that everyone could attend but sadly, that’s not always realistic. Please trust me that we try our best to make every fan happy.

A few more shows will be announced this year so please be patient. If we end up not coming this year, we will try our very best to come next year. We didn’t forget you and we care about you. If it doesn’t work out, please trust me when I say that it wasn’t for a lack of trying or because “we don’t care” or “didn’t want to”.

Sorry for the long rant. Just wanted to share this with you. I hope you can make it to a show and come see us on the #TeamSPTour If you have to travel to attend, I want to thank you for making doing that and supporting us. It means the world. We love you. See you soon!

All the dates we have announced so far are at simpleplan.com More are coming! Hope to see you at the shows!
