As promised, you can now find a bunch of new pictures from the recent show in Winnipeg, Canada, where Simple Plan opened for Blink 182 alongside The Used. Lots of the pictures were submitted by Colleen (thanks!) and some are also from the cameras of the official SP photographers. Check them out:
In just a couple of weeks, Simple Plan will be heading out to Mexico, where they will perform at four dates – Merida, Monterrey, Mexico City and Guadalajara. And while here in Europe, we’re mostly used to Simple Plan shows being advertised only on regular outdoor posters, the Mexican promoters went all in and put up huge billboards announcing the band’s return to Mexico!
Check out this picture posted on Instagram by Karla (@karichyan), which shows you one of these billboards which is located in Monterrey:
Today, Simple Plan are heading to Colorado, USA, where they have scheduled a couple more shows. But besides the already announced events in Denver and Fort Collins, CO, the fans will also get the chance to see SP in Colorado Springs, CO this Saturday!
It has just been announced that Simple Plan will be performing in the first session (12-3pm) of the Steers and Beers Brew Fest. General admission tickets start at $40, but its price will be increasing $5 the day of the event. The session is limited to 2,500 people.
After weeks of touring the U.S. just acoustically in a foursome, the whole band was finally reunited yesterday in Winnipeg, Canada, where they had an opening spot scheduled for a show with a sick line-up! As it was previously announced, Simple Plan were added for one single date as the opening band alongside The Used for the pop-punk legends that are Blink 182, who recently released a new album called California.
And while we’re still waiting for a group picture of SP and Blink, Chuck already shared a throwback picture of him and Blink’s drummer Travis Barker, which was taken in 1999. Check it out:
The Winnipeg concert took place in the MTS Centre arena, which holds up to 16 000 fans, making it one of the largest shows for Simple Plan this year. The show itself kicked off with The Used’s set at 7pm, after which Simple Plan took the stage at 8pm before the headliners Blink 182 took over at 9:15pm. From the reactions on social media, we can tell that Simple Plan were received extremely well and their show was a major success. The exact order of the songs on the setlist is yet unknown, but the list of the songs the band played is as follows: ‘Opinion Overload’, ‘Jet Lag’, ‘Jump’, ‘Boom’, ‘Summer Paradise’, ‘Farewell’, ‘Shut Up’, ‘Welcome To My Life’, ‘Perfect’ and the guys couldn’t have missed playing ‘I’d Do Anything’, whose original cameo [Mark Hoppus from Blink 182] unfortunately didn’t join the band for the live version of the song.
Have a look at the amazing moment when the whole arena sung ‘Perfect’ all together at the end of Simple Plan’s set in Winnipeg last night:
Simple Plan are slowly but surely still moving up the U.S. charts with their latest single ‘Signing In The Rain’! With a little help of their recent acoustic promo tour across the U.S. radio stations, the band’s single managed to rise up two positions to take the #30 spot this week, which has finally moved them to TOP 30 most played songs on HOT AC radios.
Update: The song moved up to #29 as of the end of the week on July 10th!
According to the Mediabase statistics, the song has already been played 811 times so far this week, as opposed to the 756 plays in the whole previous week. The last time we saw a significant move like hat was in May, when the band reached TOP 40.
To help the band climbing up the charts, make sure to let your local radio station aware that you want to hear more and request ‘Singing In The Rain’. The more airplay the single gets, the more chances there are of Simple Plan coming to play in your area.
